16 Trials of Osiris Tips from a Veteran

As I cannot do Trials of Osiris for the next few weeks, I've decided to give out tips to help others. 1. Get Practice (or as some say "Git Gud") Practice is essential for ToO. Running in with a Praedyth's Revenge after getting it in a VoG run is not going to work. Try sniping in the Elimination mode or Skirmish. Same deal with Shotguns. 2. Get a good team This one seems pretty standard, but many don't know what classifies as a "Good Team" Look for these standards in a team. Calmness (Raging leads to idiotic decisions,) Communication (It's your loss if someone doesn't tell you there is a blink-shotgunner on their grave,) And try to eliminate all signs of cockyness. (If you try to show off and do idiotic things cause one guy has an un-upgraded Messenger or a Vex, you, even though you may have a team full of 2+ K/D ratio players, will almost definitely loose. 3. Take breaks. Find yourself dying and dying after you lost a game? Take a break. The less stress the better. 4. Evaluate the opposition. Every enemy will play their part. You can check the enemy as soon as the matchmaking stops and you start flying by going to the roster in your menu and examining the enemy team. Look at exotics equipped as well. Purifier Robes will blind. Do not underestimate Voidfang Vestments or Lucky Raspberry as they provide grenades on respawn. Quick revive exotics may just save the opposition aswell. Weapons (Although, most likely Thorn or The Last Word Paired with a Shotgun and Rocket Launcher) play a key role as well. With all these factors in mind, make a plan. 5. Do not be afraid to lose your first game. Come one now, it's just your first game! Just get orientated with the map and spawns first. 6. Facing "Tryhards" You may be asking "What is a Tryhard?" Well let me answer that. "Tryhards" as they are called, are played who do not play casually, but on a higher scale. They will try their hardest to win. 75% of those guys in the lead of Rumble matches with the Flawless Trials of Osiris Emblem. Yeah that is them. Sadly there is no way to really stop these players except for this sad, sad method. Be a tryhard yourself. In the end, it's what going Flawless in Trials will make you. A cold born, tryhard. Very few can stop the transformation and go flawless. 7. Matching with lesser players. I am not 100% sure this works but it provided my teams with lower ranking and skilled players. All you need to do is to get your team to take off your level 34 gear and lower your level to 32ish then start match making. One you get a team, there is a higher chance they'll have a 33 as it tries to match level. This results with enemies with less experience who are easier to kill. I personally think this counts as cheating, but, as Bungie doesn't see it as cheating, you won't get banned. 8. Use your coins wisely. Until you have over 20 trials coins, I'd recommend keeping them and using them at certain points on your win cards. Buy the favor if you wish to start off with one win. At five buy the mercy and at 7 (hopefully you will win) get the boon so your next will brings you to 9 wins. 9. Level all armour and weapons before entering. If you try to enter Trials with an un-upgraded Thorn or Purifier Robes, you're missing out on what effects theses pieces truly have. This may even cost you the win. 10. Coordinate plans with teammates. You can't always rush or snipe. Normally the enemy will catch on and trap you like a car in a crusher. You need to make a plan, and tell your friends. Talk out your plan with your comrades and win that game. If you loose, pretend it was practice and remember that the more experience you have in a game, the better. 11. Do not be afraid to kick people. You've probably already encountered the friendly neighborhood dick in a raid or so. Do not be afraid to kick them if they enter your Trials team. Just like a diamond, a flawless team has no faults. Unless you have agreed to carry people in the Trials, you shouldn't carry anyone except yourself. Occasionally mistakes are made and you or someone else will carry the team but if that always happens, try to eliminate the person with the lowest common K/D ratio (unless that is you.) 12. Never EVER leave Leaving is an instant loss that bypasses your mercy that, if you're going flawless, will render your card useless. If the enemies are lag switching, hacking, or a teammate is kicked, don't do it. I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure you have a chance to get coins if you finish a match which will always help. 13. Never give up. Giving up won't give you a flawless will it? 14. Warlocks Warlocks are great to have in Trials. I'd recommend using Sunsinger, but your Warlocks are free to use whatever. If they're good at clearing rooms with Nova Bomb, stick with it. If you don't play much Warlock, use Sunsinger. As a Sunsinger, use firebolt grenades with the viking funeral and ignition perks on to easly bring the enemies health to 1/2 of an inch health left. If the firebolt chains, so it can hit all enemies leaving them one shot. Voidwalkers should use energy drain melee for extra super energy for faster bombing. Axion bolt grenade is great as it either: causes the opponent to flee or take large amounts of damage. SUNSINGERS PLEASE DO NOT SELF RESURRECT ON HEAVY ROUND. ROCKETS ARE A THING, A VERY VERY STRONG KILLING THING. 15. Heavy Round. Speaking of heavy round, it always happens when one team reaches 3/5 rounds won. Depending on the map and plan, supers can be used to rush and kill the enemies as they scramble for rockets. Watch out for rockets with tracking or grenades and horseshoes. 16. Titans. Titans are great additions to the team. They can Fist of Havoc Blade Dancers, Wards of Dawn (Titan Bubbles), and Self-Resurrect Sunsingers. Wards of Dawn are great for guarding teammate or enemy spawn orbs, protecting heavy, and overall protection. Watch out for golden guns as 2 shots with one gun can destroy the bubble. On small maps, I would recommend using Striker. This is mainly because strikers with shock wave clear rooms and end supers. One large maps, Defenders are great. Bubbles can save friends from snipers while reviving friends or gathering heavy. Another reason bubbles are good on small maps is because people have to rush to smash or arc blade people within. This means they can be picked off. The best exotic for defenders has to be the Helm Of Saint 14 as it blinds shotgunners, revivers and supers on the opposition so it is much harder to kill you. There are a few different exotics for striker. Many are based of your play style. However, the Armormentarium is a great piece as it combined with lightning grenades, can give two lethal, long ranged grenades. 17. Hunters Hunters, although scrawny, are true destroyers. Golden Gun can out-snipe snipers, destroy approaching Bladedancers, and break Wards of Dawn. Arc Blades can kill Self Resurrect Sunsingers, clear Wards of Dawn. Golden Gun is good for all ranges as it can be popped at an encounter with an Arc Blade and one hit them or they can kill a sniper bothering your team. The only downfall is the capacity of shots: 3. If you miss one, your super can no longer wipe the enemy team. The Acleophage Symbiote (Sorry for the spelling) can add an extra shot for this case. Arc Blades are good for small and medium maps as they can move fast and instantly kill many people if you get close. Many people like to use blink jump with shotguns as it is a fast and very mobile jump causing the player to get closer faster and shoot. Mask of the Third Man is great for this subclass as you can use the super longer because swings with the blade use less energy. Lucky Raspberry paired with the Arc Bolt grenade will cause you to always spawn with energy giving you constant grenades that can hit almost all of the enemy team. Another good exotic is the Nucklehead Radar. This exotic helmet gives you a radar while you look down the sights if your primary this helps as you can keep aiming at a corridor and know if enemies are behind you. The Radiant Dance Machines are nice as you can move faster while aiming so you can dodge those pesky Hawkmoon or Thorn shots (although most likely thorn) 18. Please do not hack or lag switch. Please for your sake do not hack or lag switch. You will 9/10 times gat reported and banned. Thank you. Edit 1: Based on some people's opinions, I have edited #14. I have also added #17 and #18 as I have not spoke of any Hunters or Titans yet. That is all I can think of as I am currently away from home and no where near the physical game to get ideas. Ask me anything down below. Bumping for later or others players wound be wonderful as that is all I am for, to help you guys.
