"VIP" criteria is set to the majority, therefore not exclusive...
The "exclusive" reward should have been something that sets guardians apart from the rest.
For example:
VIP = guardians who own every exotic
By owning every exotic you must have mastered
- VoG (vex myth)
- Croat (necro)
- HoW (3x ciphers)
- plus put in hours to get the rest
Other examples suggested:
VIP = people with the "founders" emblem (because let's be honest... It's rubbish
Or
a grimore score of X (+3,000) by 15th sept
It would also give people who don't own them all another target / reason to play before TKK is launched.
What do you think?
Could be quite quick to implement if popular? Just needs a "diamond" level shader / emblem as it would be for an exclusive group rather than the masses

I think a majority of people here are misunderstanding the situation. Those who have supported this game continually ever since beta, are getting acknowledged. By making it thus, it is technically exclusive. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY(for those who fail to understand), but US will be able to get what we have. That is what EXCLUSIVE is. This is what VIP is. VIP's are typically the largest supporters of a certain franchise or whatever. We are THE largest supporters. We were there from THE START. Not release, but beta. If we did this by who played so many hours, it would only be acknowledging certain people who have been there since Day 1. Not all of us have been able to clock that many hours, nor are lucky enough to be able to play raid after raid until we can no longer acquire something we have not already. People have lived and Bungie is respecting that by still allowing us(albeit less fortunate) lot who have been there since Day 1 to ALSO partake in the rewards of our support. I play when I can but I'm a full-time student who is also working a part-time job.

Nope. The point of "VIP" was to give something to people who supported destiny in year one, not to exclude unlucky people. This is coming from someone who does own all exotic weapons.
-
dont put a VIP reward behind a RNG generator.. never. reward player for their skill, effort, or time, anything they can influence, but never for their luck..
-
I think that leaves way too much up to RNG. I've shoved 600 hours or something into this game over several characters and done like 60 raids total (despite the Grimoire card not updating for like 4 months) and still don't have them all. Mythoclast still evades me and the Crux just never drops for me. I mean, sure, you don't feel I deserve it perhaps, but I did a raid with my friend (his first ever) and he got the Mythoclast his first time on top of FB, Found Verdict and the entire raid set and he only had like 50 hours in the game. So there's a really big problem there.

I agree with how the VIP rewards should be more exclusive, but not the way you're determining it. I've played since beta, and the only exotic that I haven't received is Necro. Crotas an ass, lol. I think it should be by time played or grimoire.

B8 is real
-
No. That's dumb. Getting exotics is rng
-
I don't think so. Pre-dlc I killed almost 800 Blades of Crota and never once got a husk of the pit and now I just don't even have a chance except for fist of Crota
-
That's a Very Unimportant Person (VUP). Seriously though, you want to limit VIP's based on quantity of lottary rolls? I suppose that in ten years, when you're still in Mommy's basement, you want her prediction that you're singularly special to come true before a world kneeling at your accomplishment?
-
damn beta player and dont own a single one of these... either I'm playing too little raids or im just that much hated by rng
-
Do you own every exotic? What about exclusives? That's likely a very small group.
-
That's too exclusive.
-
Shut up meg
-
If that is so, then add the factor that only people that started before October get a chance at this. No kinderguardians and no Christmas noobs

Edited by Roman: 6/26/2015 9:19:29 AMlol I dismantled most of my Exotic collection to keep my complete flawless Raid weapon collection had to give up my Iron Banner weapons as well bout to finish my Dreg's Cipher
-
It's from RNG though My friend doesn't even have a husk of the pit and he got crux, how is that fair when I have a fully maxed eidolon ally? Why should he get the VIP rewards when I put in more effort?
-
Im assuming you fit this criteria ?
