Am I Wearing Lipstick? (Taken King Rant)

I'm not sure who is in charge of pricing items when it comes to Destiny, if we should be mad at Bungie or Activision or some outside factors, but I'm extremely pissed right now. I, like many people here, have loyally supported this game. I pre-ordered, played the beta, got the Expansion Pass, and have really enjoyed all the time I have spent with my $95+tax. That is what it has cost me so far. This wonderful gaming experience had, and still has, a hefty monetary value attached to it. Or so I thought, until they announced the pricing for the Taken King packages. $40 for the expansion. Cool, I can dig that I guess. I'm sure it will have a lot of awesome content and whatnot. But that's as far as I go before I realize that I'm getting bent over. $60 for the base game, The Dark Below, House of Wolves, AND The Taken King. Now, I'm no math major or human calculator, but I think what that is telling me is that all that content that cost many, MANY players $100 to obtain is now going to be worth $20 to those who do not own the game at all. Those who have shown no previous support for Destiny will get an $80 discount just for waiting it out. That is an enormous pile of s***, Bungie. It really warms my heart to know they care so much about their loyal supporters that we are just expected to take this platter of crap and dig in; and by that I mean a small flame of what could become hatred is beginning to burn. I don't really know how to propose a solution to this that doesn't involve free stuff for us or increasing the price for those who have yet to adopt the game, but that isn't really my problem. It is Bungie and Activision's problem. They have just told us what our faith and loyalty is worth to them, and that is exactly 20% of what we have given to them. Thanks for letting us know how much you value your fans!

  • My problem is not that they get such a large discount. That part makes sense most people who like destiny have destiny the only way they are going to hook new players is with value. its that we are getting shafted for 40 bucks. Im going to buy it and if i dont feel value i am done they have already gotten one pass with the house of wolves not even having a raid. My bet is that its a $30 value dlc that might even be pushing it.
