Brilliant article, and well-deserved praise for the Library. Even playing it on standard CE without skulls and HD graphics, it's still a treat, a furious and tense marathon through Flood hordes keeping you on your toes.
Towards the end of the article, it's argued that the lifeless Forerunner textures of the original game do nothing for the average player's enjoyment of the level, but I disagree: for me, they're reminder that I'm in an ancient facility, unused and untouched for millennia - I'm trespassing in forbidden territory, and the enemy is everywhere. My only hope is to press on. That is one of my favourite elements of Halo's atmosphere in general. And why I wasn't a big fan of Reach's human focus.
Also, playing on CEA with pinata on is a treat: let some infection forms get in close and then pop them for grenades galore.

Edited by Onion Beetle fan: 6/6/2015 2:14:46 PMThe Library's atmospheric music is surely unsettling and somehow actuate my primal fear, which is supposedly hopeless. I enjoy playing Library none the less. It is also one of the worst mission to speedrun.
