Major Bugs/Problems with Prison of Elders

So, in the last week I've seen some horrible Prison of Elders bugs, glitches, and just bad design. The following is the worst of it: 1. [b]Server lag[/b] - Your servers need an upgrade. The slightest amount of lag can make a boss fight completely unbeatable. I've seen this on 35 Skolas and 34 Qodron. We were doing the same strategy multiple times, but the boss was taking completely random damage. In some instances we would see the boss regain lost health, other times we would watch our rockets hit him and explode, but he wouldn't take any damage. We had one run last week with Solar Burn where we put 42 Gjallarhorn rockets into Skolas and he still had over 50% of his health! WTF? Exactly the same thing happened on Qodron. This has to be lag related somehow. In all instances all three of us had full green bars for our network connections. 2. [b]Enemies not spawning[/b] - I believe this is also lag related. We've seen the wave counter increment and the critical objectives start, but the enemies not spawn. About 20-30 seconds later they all spawn right on top of us and instantly kill us while we are trying to defuse mines. This seems to happen quite often on the fourth round of the flame prince strike (arc burn on Hive with defusing mines). Usually the enemies spawn out of the map and run or fly in, but when this happens they just spawn right in the middle of the map, usually right on top of us. They spawn already shooting with projectiles in the air and we instantly die. 3. [b]Lack of checkpoints, unable to join in last round, and network errors[/b] - I understand that you want to prevent players from just jumping to the final round every game, but the complete lack of a checkpoint and being unable to join on the final round after getting a network error and being booted to orbit IS NOT THE ANSWER. Besides people have already found a way to get their friends to join on the final round with a network glitch. I really think that there should not be a restriction on joining at the final round since you have no control over getting booted to orbit after a network error (which is much more rare than it used to be, but still occasionally happens). I also think keeping a checkpoint for the fourth and fifth rounds would be a good idea. Finally, I'd like to say that you did a great job on the Flame Prince boss fight. It is the only one I've played so far that I actually found fun. It is hectic and challenging, but a ton of fun! The boss mechanic of lighting the floor on fire is great and not too overpowered like the mechanic that Qodron has (which removes all fun from the experience - I mean seriously, you snipe the detainment field 6 times and die as you are reloading?!?!). Before anyone tries to say that I must have bad internet, I have high speed Xfinity internet (over 20 Mbps). Please bump so the developers can see this. Also, comment and mention the numbers above if you've seen the same problems.

  • Anyone else having enemies glitch up and down on platforms? One second im blasting dude in the face with my shotty and then they are on the platform above me.

  • Severe problems yesterday with the same thing. Weird spawn times - 2 waves at once on the second mine. Also we would see the mine blow up and move to the next one only to hear - you have failed and look to see the previous mine still intact. All three guardians showed full green in the lag bars.

    Now it makes sense. I thought I was going crazy noticing the same issues. Big lag issues. Couldn't figure out where enemies were coming from and I wasn't in front of a door, just all of a sudden surrounded and shortly after dead. And I too have great internet. 60 mbps down and about 25 up

  • By now most people know you just need to wipe to add players to the game. I didn't think Bungie was trying to not allow us to invite friends at the end? but it just makes sense that you can't join mid round after the airlock opens. Butttt last Tuesday after beating Skolas for the first time, one of the guys I was playing with lagged out as the treasure room was opening and couldn't join back in. Now don't get me wrong I was laughing my ass off until it came down to us gallying the floor in front of the chest before opening to wipe to see if he could join back, but we just spawned up top with the floor opened and he was fkkkkkdd and didn't get chest lol. So that's pretty messed up, hurry up and drop the network fix you added to ToO.

    • Actually, I think the spawning is not happening due to the players being in the back left corner at the beginning. If you hug the back wall, they still don't spawn until one player gets closer to one of the doors. I have consistently used this glitch to get past that room. The glitch is closer to the bridge despawn cheese in CE than the Crota cheese.

          • All for checkpoints and definitely seeing the lag. On wave 4 32 yesterday hive were glitching all over the map.

            • I'm really interested to see how many people have had similar issues with Prison of Elders. It drives me nuts when I watch 30 second boss kill videos on youtube and do the same strategy only to see that the boss isn't taking damage because of lag. I also feel sorry for anyone who gets a network error on the final round and isn't aware of the network exploit to rejoin.
