How to beat Quodron
Okay guardians, here's some help for ya with a boss whose a pain in the dinklage.
Gally way: Everyone dumps gallys into him as soon as the door opens. Use a synth and repeat. THIS CAN BE DONE WITH ONLY 2 GALLYS. A sunsinger lock just needs to self res at the last second, run away when the bubble disappears (it will) and dump everything into him. The self res lock should have a gally.
Non gally method: the back right corner is your home. Live there. Install new tiles. Love it. You need to focus on the enemies in front of you NOT THE BOSS. Every once in a while you should shoot a rocket at the boss. You or your friends should see a shiny goblin. Call out that you see him. Do not hug him. It is a trick. Shoot him instead. Do not kill him. When you get the message that quadcar is aquiring targets, everyone tries to kill the goblin. Kill it. Air five.
YOUR SECOND WEAPON SHOULD BE A SHOTGUN. Whoever got the buffs from our shiny but now deceased friend can now two shot the evil shining shield with their shotgun (dr. Seuss how you like me now).
Everyone run to eachother behind a rock before you get shielded. If callouts like "collapse" or "run to me" dont work, use "i have gum" or "last one here lacks a comprehensive story".
Once everyones shields are gone, recover health, shoot a rocket at quarterback, rinse and repeat. If someone dies dont panic. Hide and wait for the revive. Kill anything that finds you. Do not accept their xanga friend requests. No one uses that anymore.
I run invis hunter for most poe for revives (and disarms). It saves lives. Leave hunters alone.
Quailman is a hard boss, but once you get the cycles down, you too can move on to doing something else in the game.

Fu¢k whoever designed this boss, and fu¢k whoever signed off on it twice in the neck, with a flaming wooden post. I'm so fu¢king done its unbelievable. I'll get to 34 next week, if I'm not too busy playing literally anything but this. I'm going to bed. Goodnight.

1 ReplyI can't even get people to join me, even with a maxed gjallarhorn. Know I'm only lvl 33 but it's a bit ridiculous that I can't get what I need to reach lvl 34 because people only seem to want lvl 34s . I'll have to try again another day but it's definitely annoying. Hopefully I can get some etheric light from iron banner

Spend 3 hours on him and still nothing. Best part was once fire team gave up to goto bed, was trying to invite help for him they all joined and oh ur a 33 with out max gally. Left. I even posted max truth. Never had this issue with the raids. As long as it was tracking they were cool with it. HOC but still. Ridiculous. Ended up giving my check point up for grabs on the form. Think a new form for people who get fed up with check points can pass them off to a different fire team to help us all out when we ENRAGE and summon our over souls on this damn game. Community to help each other out with these irritating non check points.

I can say the second method works.. Did this with a team of 3 Ghally's and 3 self-res warlocks. Lots of deaths and a few synths later, the boss was down

8 RepliesHonestly, I'm done with this boss fight. Just done. Plain and simple. It's not fun, I can't skip the opening animation. The buff only applies to one player for a short time. The bubbles restrict movement and kill you way to fast. Even if you break out a hobgoblin is likely ready with a head shot on your slow moving ass. And then the modifier keeps your abilities from recharging ever. I'm done. It's the most poorly designed boss ever. The only strategy I've seen work is the gjallahorn it til it dies. Did the community not want that? Did they supposedly listen? -blam!- you and your shoddy boss design bungie. I'd rather just have another giant bullet sponge at this point.

Edited by sb001001: 5/28/2015 7:24:53 AMTried it with two 33's last night. Didn't work out. I like the added challenge, but I had more trouble with Quodron than I had on my first ever raid. I think it's either go in gjallarhorns blazing with wol or take it very slow, pick off adds, take out eye, destroy bubbles and occasionally shoot boss. Also being 34 is a big advantage this week. I managed to get through last weeks 34 with a 32 warlock without too much trouble (other guys were 34) this week I was 34 and the others both 33 and we just couldn't make it.

Good post. We did it with 1 designated to jailbreak with super good advice. I kill the eye and super good advice melts down the shields same as it does with oracles etc.

Did it yesterday with a titan (me) a hunter and warlock. All of us had maxed Ghorns. Used Weapons of Light with ILLUMINATED perk on. If you dont have illuminated the weapon damage buff will be minimal. It pains me to see that killing most bosses in this game are dependent on someone or everybody having a specific weapon. Not fun.

Our strategy was go to left and have one guy focus on the sliver vex guy to jail break the shield and 2 others shoot the boss

Pro tip: Golden gun, 3 invectives, work wonders if you are caught without one person having the eye up. We did it just fine on our second attempt and didn't even realize there was a buff you could get. Every once in a while 1 person would go down, but 1 death is meaningless when the field is clear. Plenty of time to wait 20 seconds and get all three up again

3 RepliesThanks. I played with two friends (both 33) yesterday, and we tried on round 5 for almost two hours before giving up.. I was really sad. Hopefully I can get him down today Are modifiers random? We got a shitty one
