The thing about the lighthouse...
So alot of PvE players are upset about this new space amd want in. This is what [b]THOSE PLAYERS[/b] don't get:
*Chances of an exotic dropping in crucible is so much lower than in PvE
*This is our exotic chest/crota/atheon/deathsinger/nightfall.
*Why don't you try and get there? Not good?
Please support the lightouse, those that have made it and those yet to...

You're really not missing out on much. And on the bright side, you have infinite chances every weekend. Don't feel pressured about it now, just try it when you're comfortable.

2 RepliesI'm a PvP 'scrub.' Admittedly I'm terrible at it and stand no chance of getting to the Lighthouse. I want adept primaries so bad I can taste it! But I've also been gaming for a long time, and I remember when seeing the end credits of a game was a badge of honor and a reward in itself. To those who use the 'I paid for it' argument, you're right. Just like I paid for the right to see all the way to the end of, say, Battletoads. It's all there waiting for me. But if I want to see the end of the game, or the Lighthouse I have to be good enough to get there. Just like Battletoads years ago, eventually my need for adept gear will overcome my crucible shyness and I'll put in the time needed to get better at PvP. Through frustration will come perseverance and eventually victory. And it's all there waiting for me, since I paid for it. I paid for this challenge, and when I'm able to overcome, I'll get my sweet reward.

1 ReplyI personally applaud Bungie for implementing the lighthouse, PVP players have never been rewarded for the hours they smash into it, now all of that has changed and the PVE players don't like having something they can't do or loot from. I am still yet to reach the lighthouse (most wins I have got in a row is 7 so far!), but when I do it shall be great. It's not like it's easy to get to the lighthouse either. I have done all raids on hard, have sword beared for Crota many times and have done the level 35 PoE (which was solid), however ToO has and is still the most challenging game mode at the minute in my opinion. I support the lighthouse.

My only peeve is that the chest contains an elemental weapon, which in reality is much more useful in PvE content. And come on now, don't even compare it to the raids. The raids were in relation significally easier and static, so you could leanr and improve if you didnt get it right the first time. PvP is ever changing and even if you improve, significally even, there's always going to be a team out there that could piss on your parade. Other factors is the RNG you have with the teams you are up against. Some people could get a 9 win streak against completely clueless opponents while others had to grind through some try-hards. The third issue is that you need team mates. Even if YOU happen to be amazing there's really no guarantee that your friends are, or even willing to play it. So you have to rely on pugging. And let me tell you about pugging ToO, it's the worst. So far I've teamed up with people who, despite my requirements (which pretty much came down to "have a clue") had not pvp'ed before and/or decided to afk in the middle of things. It's just a really difficult thing to find eligible players for, to the point that you cant be bothered after a while. For instance, I've just spent 2 hours trying to find a team. Finally, the IMO only reason the queues are alive is because of those adept weapons. They're bringng in people who normally wouldnt PvP. BUT when they realize that they're out of their reach they're going to move on.

I'm mainly a pve player, but I'm still pretty good at pvp and I really want to get to the lighthouse, if there are any really good pvp guys out there that can help me out with getting flawless I would really appreciate it

I didn't make the lighthouse but I love pvp and will be trying again next week I totally agree that it's fair pvp players got trials and pve players got prison

3 RepliesI personally dont like pvp, but the trials were a blast :D made it tonthe lighthouse 3 times ( would have been 4 as I helped out friends) tbh the light house is great and all, but in the end its pretty small. Just a chest and some dead person. Yay? Though it does look awsome :D

1 ReplyTbh pve is a lot easier than pvp is. Weaker enemies and ai controlled. You have the advantage. The only pve activity that's ever given me trouble is skolas. so just man up and do the activities. Destiny was never intended to be played solely on PvP.

Everyone needs to pipe down about the lighthouse. I've never been and probably never will because I don't play much pvp. The pvp players do deserve something for their accomplishments just as pve players get elemental primaries for raiding. Not everyone raids, not everyone plays crucible. Deal with it It's not locked out content for "elite" players, it's obtainable by everyone if you want it bad enough. Don't expect to get there first time you play or within the first week. What kind of reward would it be if it were easy? If you can't complete the trials flawlessly, you don't deserve the loot. If you can't finish the raid, you don't deserve the loot. It's the same thing so stop whining

As a mostly PVE player this is how I look at The Lighthouse. Chest- Let the PVP players actually get something good for once out of PVP. They came through the the Trials unscathed. It's totally fine for them to have their cool elite weapons. Lighthouse/Mercury- Ok it's kinda annoying that The Lighthouse is set on a planet that hasn't been revealed yet. But, you can only go to the Social space. There are no raids, patrols or story missions. Overall- Let our fellow guardians who have crushed their foes get something rewarding and awesome out of the Trials.

Itll be open to the public eventually, but its a sneaky peaky for flawless trials. The grimoire gives it a nice little story and its a very fleshed out area to be exclusive.

9 RepliesEven though I made it there 3 times, I think it's unfair for the rest not to go. The best solution would be that if you win the trials regardless of your losses, you still should go to lighthouse and claim your prize. For the flawless guys though, I think getting an exotic emblem exclusively for flawless runs is enough of a reward to show others your accomplishment.

78 RepliesIm not afraid to admit I am not that great at PvP. I think its retarded that I cant access a area of the game after having spent 100$ on the game. I do play PvP, I'm just not that great at it. So yes bungie let's -blam!- over people who don't spend every day playing destiny. I have two kids, a wife, work and ect. So I really will never have a chance to access this gear or see the new area for myself. And before all you retards start posting dumb shit like "get better bro" or wtf ever you think makes you look cool. You can stfu. There is absolutely no reason after having spent 100$ on a game to not be able to access content.
