The only community I know of that is worse is COD. I will say I enjoy the pve community in destiny and have made some good online friends while raiding.

The ones who fall prey to this marketing are the immature, so they keep playing. And as a result of the game being built from the ground up to feel empowering, the immature player grows prideful. When they keep playing, they get might involved in the community. And if they get involved in the community, they might start to voice their immature opinions. This process has been allowed to fester for almost the last decade. ... At least that's how I've seen it.

1 ReplyPretty much. I've never had mature gaming communities. The only communities that have been mature, in my experience, were clans. I think it may have to do with it not being focused on one game. There are times that they can be immature though. Just not on a daily basis.

This community is the equivalent of a "who's got the biggest ......." Competition. This game for me is all about helping each other. Whether it be friends or a random that you come across on patrol. Fed up of, I got this, I got that. I'm better than you. It's all BS

1 ReplyNah... Almost everywhere you'll find pockets like what you see here, it's the internet after allow, heh. But as I hate to say, the Destiny forum (not Bungie forums as a whole) are overly toxic. What you see here is not the norm.

Although most of the blame must be put on bungies moderators, other forums dont tolerate half the shit that goes down in here. Epic forums for example will not tolerate trolls/flamers of any kind, after your 3rd warning you are permabanned, it also prevents you from making a new acct to circumvent the ban because it bans your ip. If the moderators in here were half as good then you wouldnt see any of the abuse that we see in here daily.

yip most of them are tbh, me myself i believe the blame needs to be shared between the players and the companies, the players for well them doing it an the companies for only ever thinking about there money an nothing else, what would i do to fix it? for starters i'd get all the major publishers together along with the social network sites and truth be told i would share information between them, if say a player on Destiny is threatening other players share his/her information and ban them from every platform an every social media group out there. Right now there is no consequences for these dregs of human society, they need to be made aware that ppl will no longer put up with the sort of behavior an toxicity they bring to gaming/online communities an the knowledge that if you persist in this type of behavior will result in you being perma banned from not only every major game publishers online activities but every social media outlet out there, well im sure it will curb a few ppl. Its not just upto the players, but also the developers, the publishers, just about everyone involved in the online process need to stand up an make better communities an a overall better online "life" for everyone involved, for far to long has publishers and developers sat and done nothing but watch as communities have disintegrated to trolls and out right abusive ppl, scared no doubt of losing money per usual

9 RepliesThis community got exponentially more toxic after COD got big and lots of new people started playing shooters in general. It may be great for the industry's coffers, but I noticed a sharp downturn in general between Halo 3 and Reach. It's like every fratboy rockhead on earth flooded into the online shooter community after MW2. Couldn't go five minutes in voice chat in those lobbies without some moron trying to get into a pissing contest. The community of players who played ME3 multiplayer was pretty good for the most part. Probably because that game is all about cooperation. This game is a bit better, but there are still toolbags. I miss the old days when you'd beat someone in a match and get a message saying "good game" or even a legitimate invite to group. These days its threats or something full of hate.
