I want this to be helpful for those who have not been able to pull off a 9-0 run. So if you and your team made it through 9-0, please post your tips and strategy.
Note: please dont promote the Eefrideet Spear spam :/

My friends and I reached 9-0 twice doing the following: We always had a plan of where to go on the certain round and always called out radar blips and predicted what the other team would do. Then we would take a course of action. Once one person was down we would slowly rush his orb and leave one to protect it while the other two went after the ones alive. Every time one of us had a super on heavy round, two people rushed the other teams heavy and one stayed back to get ours. Call outs are HUGE in this. Without communication, you're screwed. And my last tip is to never over or underestimate your enemies. We faced a team where all three had the exotic emblems but yet we beat them 5-1 on our first run. I hope this helps peopl! Get those emblems!

There is no counter to 3 warlocks with Thorn and Felwinters. It just happened and all they did was rush with Felwinters and we pulled every trick in the book to stop them but the damn shotgun has too much range.
-
Rush outside abuse the shit out of head glitches and the blinding light then triple thorn spam every person who looks in your general direction

There's some sound advice on this thread. My own two cents would be; don't get complacent. We were down 3-1 during one game. The other team must have stepped off the gas & we took the advantage. Treat every round like it's the last one you need to complete your Passage. If you can maintain that level of focus you'll do well.

They will try to kill you. Kill them baaaack.

I took this from someone else since I couldn't find my reply to another post: In an effort to put this thread in list/step format: 1. Get your team and think about class types and the roles each of you will play 2. Practice communication, grenade placement, and moving as a team in skirmish 3. Buy the red and orange buffs from brother Vance, save the yellow for when you're feeling good 4. Get together at least 2 strategies for each side, deciding where to be in an aggressive or defensive play In the Trials: 5. The first 0-10 seconds need to be spent communicating were the other team is going, your radar will tell you! (You should already know where your team is going) 6. Seconds 5-15 will either be trying to get quick kills off, or setting up an assault/defense 7. Havoc now ensues so keep your head, communicate downs and positions, watch your radar for a flank 8. Grenades are your best friend no matter the class. Hold off corridors, trap bodies, be preemptive and your opponents will die much quicker. Grenades help out your whole team. Stickys are great for getting quick kill in the beggining of a round. 9. Supers. 9a. Be aware of what supers you are going against. You can check their gear and class in the far left tab of the menu by inspecting them. Make special note of how many Sunsingers (know how often to expect self res). 9b. Rotate your supers with your team. Unless it's getting to the final matches, there's no need for more than one super a round. 9c. Know what utility your super should provide. If you have a golden gun by heavy round, go wipe the team while they're sitting around the box. Fist of havoc and blade dancing are perfect when you're the last man standing and they're chasing 9d. Expect the self res!!!! Dont stop reviving teammates and covering bodies until you see the actual score 10. Reviving is more important than kills 11. Rush the last man standing and keep them away from bodies 12. As the last man, run. Stay alive and circle about til you can revive unless http://youtu.be/hF1cc0r2plE 13. Babysit those bodies! Call it out too. If you killed someone say "I'm watching noobrexia's body" and get on the bloody body. 14. Did I say communicate? Do it, call out everything all the time until you know what the vital information is. It's practice. 15. As Guardian NicccK97 pointed out: take the special ammo anytime you are safe and not covering something. It will keep you stocked regardless of if you need it, and it will help keep the shotguns and snipers at bay 16. How you feel IS important. Don't get discouraged. Be awake and aware. Eat some food, it's brain energy. If you smoke or drink, only smoke and drink half what you usually do

Use a hand cannon with similar stats as Fatebringer with high calibar rounds to stagger Thorn users. Use the VoG sniper (Best PvP sniper IMO) and rocket with proximity detonation. Patient is everything, there's no shame in waiting.
-
Pshh nice legit strats guys but here's some cheesy ones. 1.lie about your stats on lfg no shame in getting carried (okay a little but whatever) 2. If you have a last gen console, use it. The player base is generally smaller and less competitive. Also it can't hurt to play at weird hours because really ToO isn't so much about bring good as it is about finding 27 people worse than you. 3. Fun fact, yes quitting in game counts as a loss but during matchmaking it doesn't. So if you see a team of thorn/ tlw em el gee pros with that shiny exotic emblem, just walk away. Sure they get a free win but you don't lose and everyone saves 10 mins. Win Win Win.
-
hope you get matched with casuals? lol would be the biggest one... i cant imagine all these teams would be going 9-0 if they actually faced each other, rather then essentially pub stomping a random group..

Edited by Greciankid: 5/25/2015 4:18:03 AMOnce you're up 3v2 you -blam!-ing get in their faces. No hesitation. That should work most of the time.
-
Have a bad connection, does wonders watching ppl trying to hit you and then you just turn and pop em in one shot :)
-
My best piece of advice is to get comfortable sniping. As soon as one goes down, take advantage of 3v2 and rush your opponents side to where the body is. Strength in numbers.
-
Change your strategy and adapt mid game. For instance: spawning on the inside place and rushing left 2 rounds in a row. You then rush right and aim down the map and snipe the suckers standing with their snipers up, waiting for you to appear up the stairs on the left. Always keep the enemies on their toes :)
-
I feel as if the best setup is 2 self res warlocks and a gunslinger hunter. You'll on average get your golden gun on round three, at which point you'll want to have combustion on, run over to their heavy and take all 3 out. With self res, keep it and save it for the perfect moment when they have their backs turned and spam nades and melees, and make sure to revive any teammates.
-
Before the match starts.. If you see 3 34s and they have the exotic emblem.. Exit the application. It won't count as a loss.
-
There's no cheese for this, you have to fight nancy
-
Our main group setup consists of one of each class specced as Striker, Gunslinger and Sunsinger. With each one, play to their strengths whilst not going lone wolf (unless getting the flank whilst others draw fire) and use Supers tactically. We tend to use Supers separately if possible, and avoid them on the heavy round if we can too. Go for revives over anything else. Avoid facing the sun during shootouts and back-up inside if you must (map-specific). Use grenades tactically to block corridors and force the enemy to move where you want them. And just talk to your team. That's the most crucial thing, really.

Just do this http://i1308.photobucket.com/albums/s602/jleonard9811/5BBFFF01-29E9-44AB-BC36-F4355C18FECB_zpsu3s5pgav.jpg http://i1308.photobucket.com/albums/s602/jleonard9811/EB21BC8C-ABFD-44E7-B355-A5841354A8BB_zpsdhx1uzpr.jpg

To be honest, a team that are just naturally good will never lose against an average team, no matter what tactic the average team uses,a superior team that has excellent aim and skill will always overpower the other team.
-
The sun spawn side: go left directly and use the sun as cover. The spawn inside: go to the left or middle tunnel and use the rotating walls as cover.
-
Went 9-0 on all three characters basically just dont rush , make good use of snipers
-
Shoot. Kill. Live.
-
Can you win 1v1 pistols? How do you fair when it's 2v1? You should be able to win 1v1s if you want to get to the lighthouse.
-
Camp it out
-
Thorn.
-
Went 9-0 twice, without using the boons first try. This is too easy.
