1 hour into DS2

Died 4 times, leveled up twice, screamed like a girl when those pig things came chasing me. I already know it was worth my $60 now I gotta figure out where to go next. Traded in Destiny to buy it and the worker said "you done with it to?" lol Edit: just lost 5000 souls in the forest of fallen giants while farming bc I got cocky. Been playing dragon age and keep forgetting to roll away Edit 2: Just realized this is trending! First time wow!

    • Should look for Dark and Demon's souls. They make DS2 look like a pushover. I should know, I have played all 3.

      • It took me about a week to finally beat the game (I could only play in the morning for 2 hours max before work an hour on break and 4 after work before passing out) And I highly recommend the wiki app It really helped me with looking stuff up and what not I was pretty confused when I first started playing And I started as a Mage so it was a little interesting to learn the ropes But after my first play through it took me maybe 3 hours to reach the last boss again (farming souls at giant lord so I can reach 300+ (currently 240 now) The game is really all about learning your preferred and most effective way of taking on a challenge then adding to it When I first played through I could only really put effort into intl because I had so few points and that's where the starting stat is the highest for sorcerers however Around halfway through the game on NG I farmed for crystal soul spear and soul geyser For which I now have 7 copies of each And used moonlight greatsword until I hit NG+ wherein I rearranged my stats so I could have this -blam!-ing amazing ultra great sword
Fume UGS
in one hand and my staff
Of Wisdom
in the other that would have about 15 casts of CSS
crystal soul spear
and 9 casts of SS
soul spear
As well as having the crown of the iron King (replenishes 20% of spell use every 2 minutes, perfect for little to no bonfire runs) And for a time I tried lighting instead of magic but the damage just wasn't there
even with dragon chime +5 and 60+ faith
So I went back to intl over faith and life couldn't be easier TL:DR VERSION the point is that this game has limitless possibilities you just need to take some time to find them, it's all about adapting the way that you adapt to the game, following someone else's interests are easy but finding your own way is what makes the game enjoyable It may take you a day to figure out what it is and even then be cautious but still once you beat the game and all dlcs if you do a NG+ you'll have the time of your life moping the floor and having a blast with bosses and enemies that can OHKO you if you aren't careful

        • I can't wait to talk to you 50 hours down the line. SotFS is my first true run on a souls game. I'm at about 70 hours and level 160 and I've been where you are. And eventually you will be where I am. If any enemies are giving you a hassle, just remember you can come back when you are so over leveled that you have no business being there and then just smack the shit out of anyone who gets in your way. Also -talk to any NPC you meet until you exhaust their dialogue -take your time and really e plots the levels, there are shortcuts, secrets, and hidden stuff EVERYWHERE. -learn to guard break, learn to counter -keep your weight under 70% so you don't "fatroll" -keep an eye on the condition of your weapons and armor, stuff can break at the worst time, turning a sure victory into a bitter defeat. -plan your character build from the beginning of the game and stick with it, it makes things a lot easier. If you decide that another style of play suits your style, there is an item you can get that will allow you to respec your points with the old hags in the hut at the beginning of the game. -don't kill the old hags at the beginning of the game -you can "leave" certain items with Dyna and Tillo (the invisible birds in things Betwixt) for random level items. You want the old whip. You want 2 of them lol. Hope this helps, if you're on Xbox one my GT is dutch2099, hit me up.

Try Bloodborne when you can. It's like DS but the atmosphere is perfect and there's alternate endings, the best of which requires you to eat a scattered umbilical cord. I'm serious.

                            • 5k souls is nothing You'll get them back easy Around lvl 200+ it costs 100k+ to level and clearing one area usually yields close to that amount Also don't forget that there's a 15 respawn limit on adds in DS2 so easy way to get past levels albeit slow is to just killing everything until they don't respawn after testing at a fire and then proceeding

                                  • I'm addicted all over again but it seems easier, for the most part. When I played on PS3, you had to fight through more mobs to get to the bosses. The only places I had problems with was Heides Tower and Dragon Shrine. I beat most bosses on the first or 2nd try. Maybe because I'm fairly familiar with it and I went with a strength build. The dlc is a total bitch, though.
