Does everyone have there own luck?
I have noticed in my time of playing destiny on two consoles that people have there own drop rates. Some of my friends get certain weapons that I can't get. I have gotten 3 truth rocket launchers and my other friend has gotten 5 Ghorns. I think that everyone has a wheel that spins when a reward is given. Some people wheels have greater chances at certain weapons than others. This wheel is what we call RNG. I think that when we enter the game we are given a different wheel than everyone else. This wheel defines what loot we get and how often we get it. This would explain why some guns or armor that simply will not drop for you. Each exotic or sometimes legendary has a different percentage of drop chance that takes up your wheel. RNG is supposed to be fair and the same for everyone. If RNG is random and fair, why do some weapons and armor never reach your grasp. Please like and comment if you think this is true.

6 RepliesI don't necessarily agree with you. But I'm almost positive that getting a Gjallarhorn makes you more likely to get one in the future. I have 300+ hours, which might be on the tamer side, but have yet to get a Gjallarhorn. Everyone I know with a Gjallarhorn has gotten multiples, literally anywhere from 2-8 Gjallarhorns. Maybe I'm just jealous and/or butthurt, but it seems to be a recurring theme.

Took me about 1000 hours of game time and nearly 5 months before the first Gj dropped. Got 2 more the following month. No complaints here.

This topic has come up before. If Bungie uses unique player IDs as part of the seed used in the RNG, you will see differences between Guardians. Also, we know from Bungie's posts that at least for Crota's End, Bungie tracks the drops you get to make sure you have enough "fun" drops to keep you excited about playing. But we don't really know how Bungie's RNG works.

Why can one person sit for hours at a slot machine and not win, then someone else sits at the same machine and hits the jackpot in a couple pulls? Its all random, you have no set "loot table" assigned to you. When you complete a task a virtual die is rolled (or as you stated a wheel is spun) this die/wheel is the same for everyone and all have the same chance at getting any one particular item.

Last week 2 identical FWC scout rifles (never got one from fwc though) in back to back night falls. This week 2 universal remotes in back to back raids. Playing since day 1,only got fatebringer last week,had 3 more since.
