Scout rifles
Just considering wasting my strange coins on the MIDA.
Use scout rifles mostly unless its a swarm of enemies i.e. Will of Crota where I find an auto rifle better.
Have mainly used the badger overall which is very hard hitting but a pretty slow reload and a small mag, picked up a crypt dweller the other day which is pretty similare.
Any advice on if its worth moving to the MIDA or is it just a suck it and see?

4 RepliesGlad you bought it. MIDA is a superb scout. Shoots fast, reloads quickly and is very stable. Once you max it - try running with it using +2 Agility in the lamp maze. You will marvel at your speed from lamp to lamp.

1 ReplyI got the guide with the game and it lists 5 separate archetypes for scout rifles but I find that their are effectively 3. The 27 rate of fire 61 impact with high range group(Badger CCL, Gheleon's Demise). High Impact, low ROF. The 37 rate of fire, 48 impact family(Crusader I, The Calling, Saterienne Rapier, Vision of Confluence) Balanced The 42+ rate of fire with impact in the 30s(MIDA, Crypt Dweller, B-line Trauma) These ones reload fastest, have larger clips generally. If you favor the Badger archetype you may not love it, I personally like all the scout rifles and I think MIDA is one of the best exotics in the game - it's stagger is off the charts, it's pinpoint accurate and has a sick rate of fire. The movement speed and 3rd eye make it crazy in PVP but i use it most in PVE, it's a head popping machine.

Maybe my favorite exotic for PVP and PVE. I just feel awesome when I use it. If you don't feel that Shoulder Charge is yet awesome enough, equip a MIDA.

saterene rapier with firefly or badger with that on it are good too. mida is great for general use. awesome head shot weapon

Probably the best scout rifle out there right now and one of the best, well-balanced exotics.

3 RepliesMida is a good scout rifle I think it's over hyped I have a badger myself that I usually use because of the role I have on it but if your looking for a good rate of fire I'd look at getting the bline trauma it has a great rate of fire and still leaves your exotic slot open

Run vog till you get vision of confluence. As far as pure stats are concerned it can't be beat. Then just upgrade come may 19. My second favorite scout rifle is prolly the iron banner one or fang of ir yut. I would save your exotic slot for something good like gally or IB

Get it. The perks on it make you insanely fast! You'll be going from post to post in the abyss really quickly Has a pretty large clip 21, 27 with field scout Staggers enemies like crazy!

One of the best exotics. Only gun to give you +4 agility. You'll smoke some fools in the abyss part of the Crota raid.

1 ReplyMIDA was my first exotic, and I still use it all the time. I love it because it's quick and snappy. Sure it won't hit as hard as like a badger but I think it's still one of the best out there. If you have coins to "waste" then you should definitely do it

1 ReplyMIDA has some great perks, to include a hidden high caliber rounds perk. Makes the lamps in Crota a cake walk, especially if using the stealth hunter approach. Overall it is a top shelf exotic, give it a whirl in crucible and stay out thorn/TLW range lol.

Not a waste. MIDA is amazing. If you run scouts how can you possibly be considering not picking up the only exotic scout in the game?

If you get lucky you can roll firefly and outlaw on a scout rifle and it will be like a fatebringer, I have another nitc with those perks equipped on my hunter. Or just buy the saterienne rapier.

Its extremely good for the movement speed. Makes crota very easy. I use it to solo parts all the time. It also makes running patrols and other loew level mission for bounties much faster. More movespeed means less time walking past low level enemies. It has plenty of uses and perhaps will be usefull in the new expansion. Its utility is what makes it really shine. Plus its at maxed reload and has good stability. Not much to hate. And it has that hidden perk where it can stun lock because it basically has the hard hitting rounds built in.

1 ReplyThe mida is a head shot machine. Love the radar while zoomed perk as well. Running the lamps in crota is a breeze with it as well. But it doesn't feel like it hits as hard. I'm glad I got one...had it drop 2 more times since I bought it from xur a couple weeks ago, but still feel it was worth the coin to ensure I had one.

I'm a big scout rifle user also and I love the MIDA. It's very smooth and is built for quick precision shots, especially with the stagger effect buying you time to line up head shots. That said I rarely use my exotic slot on it, pretty much just for doing 100 precision kill bounties while on patrol or whatever. I prefer to use the Fang of Ir Yut rifle from Crota's end at the moment because it's a well rounded rifle, can have the same 27 round magazine, and does arc damage to boot. If you really are a fan of scout rifles though you should have MIDA. I like to hold on to most of the legendary or better scout rifles I come across because there are pros and cons to all of them. I even kept a blue one with the Shoot to Loot perk.

One with fire fly, explosive rounds and field scout is optimal. Have a Another NICT with it. Perfect for PvE but not the Abyss. The explosions stagger other mobs and make them slower and you can hit mobs behind crates.

1 ReplyOnce equipped you will float like a butterfly. I'm pretty sure it is made from a space age polymer lighter than fiberglass. You'll like it if you feel other scouts are slow and heavy, it hits hard too, usually staggers enemies.
