The Crucible, A Love / Hate Relationship
Okay the crucible is one of my favorite things about destiny and I understand a lot of people don't like it. My question hear is, how can you ultimately tell if you're really good? I have had a lot of people tell me that I am a crucible queen. However, I can't really factor in stats because one I don't know where to find that information (don't go judging on this lack of knowledge) and two because in the beginning I was god awful. It took some practice to get to the top for me, but I almost always get the best around trophy and the best k/d. Someone help please! Also, if you are in fact an excellent pvp player, it would be awesome to run with / or against you!! Happy gaming! Oh, and one more thing! Why does like 90% of the community prefer to avoid pvp? Is it a specific popular gun? Glitches? Supers? Feel free to rant! It's always good to let go of a good rant!

I'd say as long as you finish your games with a positive K/D ratio you're a good crucible player :) I like to think of myself as pretty good. You can check your stats at destinytracker.com :)

I wouldn't say crucible queen but your stats are ok (probably better than mines). Your kd is on the lower side but it looks your a nice active player. Not sitting in the back going 5-0 and bailing out the match. I personally love the crucible but I think people hate it because some aspects are a bit unbalanced. Some of the map layouts are poor and if you're with randoms it becomes a struggle. I think they need a seperate mode for fire team matches as it can be a turn off to que into a match and your on a pug team versus a 6 man fire team all with last word, fel lie and 2 snipers picking your team off. A little iframe when spawning would be nice too as people just spawn kill. Once I literally spawned into 3 supers back to back. I literally could not do anything about it. Crucible just doesn't offer much for new comers to outweigh the frustration of playing it.

No competitive community means there's no incentive to play. Flailing on thumbless kids gets boring after seven months.

1 ReplyI am one of those people who avoids PvP. It's mainly because when I do play, I'm working on an exotic bounty, so there's extra penalty for failure. This gets my blood pressure way up, and it makes me feel uncomfortably twitchy, as if I had been drinking way too much caffeine. It winds me up, and puts me in a foul, snappy mood, where I'm more likely to be angry at unimportant things. (You can imagine what my girlfriend thinks about me playing Destiny when it puts me into such a state...) I have not learned how to play PvP 'casually'. Maybe if I didn't have an exotic bounty to work on, I would relax and enjoy it more. But I'm usually working on regular bounties when I play Destiny, so I almost always have an exotic bounty. (Not to mention, I often have the Thorn bounty, on my Hunter, with neither Atheon's Epilogue or the Word of Crota...)

2 RepliesI like crucible especially control but I'm so bad at it I choose to not play unless it's for an exotic bounty. I don't take my personal KDR seriously so I can admire the skill in which some people are able to play. Yesterday for example I was playing and there was a massive lag spike, all bar 1 of the enemy team left and we all sat around not shooting, we were at the time 6000 point up, when it all settled down 5 clan mates joined and proceeded to absolutely destroy us, they actually won the game by 2000 points. Despite my many deaths it was an incredible spectacle to watch, they were using a mixture of Thorn and TLW and the skill at which they did it was phenomenal, nearly every shot was a head shot, supers, grenades all timed, placed perfectly, I was actually laughing along whilst playing!!
