I was sitting in Philosophy class and a thought crossed my noggin. I'll communicate it to you so you can share my "pain".
Imagine for a moment that life in the universe evolves to the point of transcendent super-intelligence. This isn't difficult to imagine given the exponentially increasing intelligence of life on Earth since its inception. Alternatively you can imagine that a species of life, like ours, creates an artificial intelligence which becomes a transcendent super-intelligence. The detail doesn't matter; for the sake of this thought experiment, the evolution of the universe results in God.
The God Intelligence has these attributes;
it is always existing
it is an intellectual being with personality; not an abstract idea
it is transcendent; it is both the effect of the Big Bang and the cause
it is autonomous; free from space and time
it is irreversible; it must happen and cannot be undone
So the evolution of the Universe results in the eventuality of transcendent intelligence. This is an actual philosophical argument, but let's pretend it's true; if a singular unique, transcendent personality exists, that is responsible for, and is the result of, reality, then there can be nothing else. In this hypothetical, reality exists in this God's mind and any intelligent beings within reality are fragments of this personal intelligence; like split personalities.
Reality is a dissociative hallucination created by this God when faced with the illuminating horror that is nothing but himself. Hell is being alone and this God is lonely. We are his imaginary friends.
Obviously that's not true, but I presented it as true because it's supposed to make you think. Isn't philosophy fun :)
Interesting thoughts, but let me propose my contribution to this; God, by definition must be perfection, else a god would not be a god. A collective consciousness, regardless of its perfection being the sum of its parts (i.e. this person is perfect in this, but someone else is perfect where he lacks) transgresses on this thought of perfect idealism. Furthermore, Transcendence is a state of being. To transcend beyond corporeal and live from without the universe, or indeed any universe, to the level of god. He must exist beyond existence and exist in non existence. The simple fact that we do, will, and have existed, negates that entirely. I'm enjoying this

Just want to be clear; these are not my views on God.

Let me posit my thoughts: your thoughts are about a century or so outdated. The French existentialists posited something similar in that the world moves in a progressive evolution...and then the Great War shattered that and Modernism abounded.

What i think Key: Heaven: reward for having positive karma and being good Hell: being bad and having negative karma Life span: where our karma is tallied and judged Our life is a testing ground to determine where we will move to when we pass into the beyond

First time I've ever heard the words isn't philosophy fun and not thought instantly "hat guys a dick"

Are you saying that something can become so intelligent that it transcends reality and becomes a god?
-
I confused. Can has cookie?

I believe the terms "trancendant" and "intellectual being" are contradictory. Once the being transcends, words like intellect and being are inadequate to describe its omnipotent, omniscient, experience. Cool thought though. I like it.

Prepare for a wall of amateur philosphy/nerd text. Pardon my spelling/grammer mishaps, I'm on mobile. The link up there will take you to one of my favorite blogs. If you feel so inclined take a look at the AI superintellegance post. I will be referencing ideas form it a lot. There will be a TL;DR at the bottom. So according to the link up top if we build a self evolving and improving AI that reaches AGI stage it will quite likely be VERY little time until it reached an ASI stage and kept going into levels of super intelligence we could not imagine. And assuming this AI figures out how to mass produce Atomic sized nanobots. It could essentially become god. Think about it. An ASI could quite likely master time travel, wormhole transportation or something we could not imagine and with an army of nanobots it could preform all the miracles shown in the bible. It is quite possible that we or an other intelligent race built god. As a christian I think that this could in fact be what god it. TL;DR God = Supercomputer with nanobot technology?

That's -blam!-ing awesome. Well done cuppy.

You haven't accounted for the big crunch, when everything collapses back into a single point, causing the next big bang. Unfortunately, everything in our known universe is connected by gravity so not even your AI will escape that reoccurring crunch unless you can get out of the universe altogether.
-
To be free from space and time and to be the effect of the Big Bang is a paradox; to be part of the latter would mean to have a quantifiable material form, which means it occupies space and refutes the former.

Mind = blown This is really well though through mate nice!

This may have made me religious.

what if the human race was started by frozen embryos who were sent here by other humans thousands of light years away, millions of years ago? what if its our turn to find an inhabitable planet with breathable oxygen and soil through a worm hole that leads to a whole different galaxy? this is basically interstellar sumarized

I fear the day we go to Foster's then. I don't want to be left alone.

Might be the case. Who knows?

Cool story bro.
