Real talk, quit bitching, get a ps4 . Everyone playing on last gen, I'm sorry but if you created something brand new wouldn't you want that to be the flagship instead of hanging on to old stuff? Yeah I love my ps3s, I say ps3s cause i have 2. I had great times on them. Cod, killzone, uncharted, it's all great but we must realize that the longer we all hold on to wanting the old tech to be on part with the new tech, we are just holding back the capabilities of next gen.

I didn't see them blame old tech, I did see them say that in order for added vault space to work at all on last gen they had to remove the comparison option. Even on Xbox one if you store every exotic in the vault with current vault space things start to get a bit more slow than usual when transferring items. Having so many items on screen is loading a lot of background data for each image

I wouldn't say that it was a dick move, that would assume Bungie has some competent understanding of human group social dynamics which judging from the game I say they don't (otherwise, why the BS story and incompetent social features?) Rather its just a deflection tactic, not instigation. The issue is the engine and of course with less memory the older generation consoles hit the limit [i]first[/i]. So with a little deconstruction they remove the older consoles from consideration here and increase vault space. OK, but we know now there's a distressingly small limit to the number of things Destiny can display on the screen at a given moment (for any modern piece of hardware). That still exists on the new consoles too, and with another couple of expansions it may start becoming a factor again in constraining vault expansions and possibly other gameplay developments too (ex. the scale of combat and gameplay.) Keep in mind, there's not only DLC to worry about. There's the next game too with character transfers of some kind or another. With an ever increasing number of weapons and armor Bungie has developed themselves into a corner, not only for the questionable engine performance but also in the principle of how they're games are going to be managed over the long term. Either they'll have to abandon the current vault system sometime in the near future (and settle for a cheaper, less visually appealing analog, bringing up the big question of why they wasted time developing the current system), or abandon everything you worked for in previous games (with only token recognition through [i]generalized [/i]rewards for Destiny 1 progress on your Destiny 2 character, which totally undermines the content and structure of Destiny 1.) All in all, Bungie is pretty messed up ATM.

It was part of their marketing strategy with Activision. Bungie would be wise to develop with next-gen only in mind from Destiny 2 and onward.

Too bad Bungie has shown they have no clue what they're doing with Destiny since day 1 and now they're trying to get a scape goat. So pathetic of Activision Bungie. Oh well what did you expect from a large company? They can't ever admit it's their own fault. A bunch of children.

Their engine was designed to be cross- gen. I'd temper my expectations for most of destiny because even if they go current generation only it'll based on what many would consider an out of date engine already. The 10 year term is the estimated engine lifespan. Destiny is based in a halo reach to now development lifecycle which unfortunately puts it as more a last generation engine with current gen compatible. My expectations for destiny and even destiny 2 are very tempered and I'm skeptical if it will ever be the game everyone was hoping until they develop an engine built for current generation systems. Bungie put it in the light that past generation limited their efforts rather than admitting they programmed themselves into a corner with a cross generation model. Now the community with tear itself apart for a while. Hopefully everyone will take this a realize how limited destiny actually is

You do realize the entire reason Destiny was released on all gens was so they could maximize profit. No one was buying the new gen consoles. Content wasn't watered down it was going to be like that. This arguement is so idiotic. Because I guarantee you the same bullshit we have now would still be going on. You're not paying a monthly subscription fee for destiny servers. They give a small bump to vault space to keep cost to themselves down. Managing all those bytes is pricy with so many players.
