Iron Banner Tips

Hi everyone, Wanted to take a moment to list a few things that many people already know, but many others don't. When it comes to the iron banner, keep some of these in mind for maximum fun and success for you and your team: First and foremost: group up with likeminded players that you can have a good time with. Having a good time during multiplayer means different things to different people. Some are all business, some are all about the laughs, some only have fun if people are playing with their A game and winning. Everyone is different, and none of these are right or wrong. You'll have the best time if you find people that share your outlook and play style. If someone's rubbing you the wrong way, it just might be who they are so try and find a different group if it gets bad! Bearing that in mind: 1. Be level 32, or as close as you can: unlike the normal Crucible, level matters specifically in Iron Banner, this will make the difference in whether or not you win a firefight against an opponent with near equal skill. 2. Use maxed weapons: weapon level also matters in Iron Banner and can dictate the outcome of matches. Additionally, look for weapons with damage, stability and range stat rolls. Vendor, engram and Mail package weapons tend to have more effective multiplayer stats than raid weapons. 3. Use your headset: if you're grouping up, take advantage of your new allies. If you need help taking or defending a point, call it out... But also announce when the skirmish is over so the team can spread out accordingly. 4. Die wisely: Tell your team how many enemies and what supers or weapons they may need to worry about if you go down, use your after death screen wisely. 5. Be constructive: if someone does something wrong, just like in raids it doesn't help anyone to be negative or dish blame for long. Just the facts in a positive matter will keep teams together longer so people can focus on the game instead of getting angry! 6. Kills matter as much as holding Control points: while holding more points than the other team matters, the score is also based on how many kills you get while holding those points. So don't just sit back and defend conservatively, play a little swing D to get your gun in the mix. Find the choke points the enemies need to get through to take your points so you can maximize your score for the win. 7. Have fun: laugh and talk about the good things you're doing, like when you own somebody or go on sprees and so on. Call teammates out on good moves and kills you saw them make, these vibes tend to catch on through the group and make everyone at ease, improving their gunplay. I hope this was helpful to some guardians out there!
