I've been seeing some weirdness in IB over the past couple hours: The game will be rolling along just fine, then seemingly one whole team will get dropped from the game at once. The first time I saw it, the game was rolling along and then suddenly got quiet. I could barely find any enemies. I pulled up the scoreboard and there was only 1 player left on the enemy team. I figured a 5-man fireteam must have left for some reason... Why though? There was maybe 2 mins left on the clock and they were winning. Even the one guy that was left could have hid in a corner or something and we wouldn't be able to rack up enough points to turn it around. And then *blip* the last guy "left" too... We won, if you can call it that. Strange, but what can I do about it? I kept playing. Maybe 20 mins ago: Game running along just fine... I had the scoreboard up for some reason (was probably dead) as it happened: *blip**blip**blip**anteater*. Players dropping off the scoreboard [i]just from my team[/i] at a rate of maybe 4/sec, with me getting disconnected right in time. It clicked in my mind that this could be what happened to the other team earlier. Having a [i]wtf[/i] moment, I loaded up the tower, left without doing anything and went back to IB. It drops me into a game. The score is around 16k to 6k against our team. Our top scorer has ~500 points. Let that sink in for a moment. 500 points x 6 players = 3000 points, yet the score was over 6000 (the real total was maybe 800 points). That happens when somebody leaves the game... They're gone, but the points they scored for the team stay. How many people left? Looking at the scoreboard at that moment: 3 of us had 0 points, two had a little over 100 points (1 kill each) and our top scorer I already pointed out with (probably) 5 kills. So in other words, 5 out of 6 players on our team just joined the game. Player 6 must have been there longer, which makes sense - if all of a team's players leave, the game ends. The other team? They were all in the 2k points and above range... They'd been there for the duration it seemed. My impression is that someone's exploiting the networking to fast-track their way through IB. But I'm paranoid like that... 3 data points isn't a lot to build a case on.
