There are too many types of currency and there is to little to spend it on. Once your 32 everything in the tower is useless for you. Ascendant Materials are virtually pointless and yet they're still dropped like candy. Blue quality items are just dismantled for armor parts so why no just drop armor parts. Here are a couple oversights that could help balance it out or at least get it on the right track.
Reuse assets:
So many pieces of armor have been rendered for this game but about a day you hit level 20 and never see half of them again. Some of them are visually pleasing yet pointless. Why not reuse those assets and make legendary versions of them?
Gunsmith:
Seriously, who uses this? When your low level you get enough drops to get along and when you hit like lvl 16 his gear becomes obsolete. No on buys ammo from hit when you can get 5 for 1 coin. He should carry only engrams. This way you can roll for rng drop perks on your favorite weapon.
Simply currency:
Cut all currency and only use strange coins. Glimmer, gone. Motes, gone. Marks, gone. Unify and simply. Level up? Get a strange coin. Kill a enemy, get a strange coin in a 1 in "X" change drop rate. Also remove coins from the items and put it at the top like glimmer, which can also be shared between your characters. This would free up space in your Vault and improve the way we handle commerce.
These simple changes would improve quality of life at all levels of play. From new level 2's to 32's.

one thought: some stuff must need gameplay to farm - basically you spend time in the game so it will be played by players. only two things are becoming ridicilous 1) the income of ascendant materials(daily event rewards/nightfalls keep poppin them ) 2) 25k cap on glimmer.
