Iron banner advice for next time.
If you can't make it to rank 5 in 7 days you're doing something wrong.
Of which is probably this:
[b]Equip your shader.
Equip your emblem
Equip a class item.[/b]
These all give you an extra 10% each.
[b]don't quit out of a game unless you have 5 tokens[/b]
Those add up and can be quite a boost upon winning.
[b]Do the bounties[/b]
With all the buffs these bounties can be serious pull.
[b]Grab the buff every time.[/b]
[i]why would you not?[/i]
Lastly, my favorite:
[b]Get. Good. Seriously.[/b]
If you can't get headshots, if you can't figure out which control point is the lopsided one, if you can't get at least a 1.0 k/d, you have to ask yourself "what am I doing here?"
Iron banner is not for the weak. Its intentional and its fun that way.
Its probably the most important out of all of the above.

I hit 4 with two classes and 5 with my Hunter. Could have done it with all three, did last time. Two more pieces of advice....... ONLY HOLD THE TWO CONTROL POINTS CLOSEST TO YOUR SPAWN!!!!!! Running all the way to the third, spawns the opposing team BEHIND YOU!!!! DO NOT pass the half way point of the map unless a couple try to steal the heavy ammo for the other team. AND.............WAIT FOR MORE THAN ONE PERSON TO BE AT THE HEAVY AMMO DROP BEFORE YOU PICK IT UP!!!! MORE THAN ONE PERSON CAN GET IT!!! Most annoying thing in the match, running towards a heavy drop to watch on scrub pick it up! The only acception is if you got red on your motion tracker!!
