Third Subclass Concepts

Disclaimer: I recognize that a lot of people have their own third subclass ideas and that these ones that I'm presenting could be very similar to other's ideas. I do not intend to steal any ideas or credit, this is just my vision for what three new subclasses would look like. Titan - Crusader "Take up your sword Titan, the demons must be purged in fire." Grimoire:
Crusader I If we are to call the Strikers the artillery of the Light, and call the Defenders the shield; we must consider the Crusader to be the general who conducts such warriors. A general that walks the field beside his men, and bolsters their will - the one who fans the flame of battle. Crusader's are as versatile as they are indomitable. Whether first, blade, or shield they will unwaveringly turn their enemies to ash for the sake of their comrades. They are the keepers of their brothers and sisters in arms, and they inspire greatness in everyone who looks upon their righteous inferno.
Grenades Abilities: Furnace Grenade - A grenade that sticks to surfaces and emits a cone of solar fire. Fire Bomb Grenade - A grenade that ignites a large area of the ground for a short time and causes lingering burn damage on enemies that touch it. Protector Grenade - Use this grenade on an ally to cover them in a flame shield that erupts after a short time dealing solar damage to nearby enemies. Jump Abilities: Lift - Jump and then press (X)/(A) again while in the air to activate Lift Increased Height - Upgrades Lift to carry you higher Catapult - Upgrades Lift to provide a strong initial burst of momentum Dash - Upgrades Lift to give you a short period of increased movement speed after landing. (This ability has a cool down after 2 consecutive uses) Super Ability: Pillar of Fire - Erupt in Solar Light that damages nearby enemies and bolsters you and your allies' movement speed and weapon handling. Super Modifiers: Righteous Fist - You and any affected allies have decreased melee ability cooldown time during Pillar of Fire Blessed Shield - You bring forth a shield of Solar Light that replaces your other weapons. Use R2/RT to do a powerful shield bash that can damage multiple enemies. ( Using the shield bash reduces the amount of time Pillar of Fire stays active, sprinting is disabled) Sword of Wrath - Your guardian summons a blade of fire that replaces your weapons and can do powerful sword attacks. (This replaces Reckoning with a sword slash, lift abilities are disabled) Melee Ability: Reckoning - Your melee attack blinds your target for a short time when charged. Melee Modifiers: Repentance - Hitting an enemy with Reckoning causes an explosion of solar energy. Penance - Reckoning causes lingering burn damage on its victim. Exorcism - Hitting an enemies with reckoning also suppresses them. Perk Set 1: Torchbearer - Killing enemies with solar damage reduces the cool down of Pillar of Fire Vulcan's Armor - Able to carry an additional Protector grenade. Raider - While Pillar of Fire is active your footsteps leave behind a trail of fire, movement speed is increased. Perk Set 2: Agni's Guard - Extends the range of Pillar of Fire and increases benefits to allies Iron Lord - Using Blessed Shield gives you and allies within Pillar of Fire's radius bonus armor Sword of Damocles - Sword of Wrath now allows you to use lift and getting kills with it increases the length of time Pillar of Fire is active. Your health no longer regenerates during Pillar of Fire. Warlock - Stormrider "Ancient man told stories about beings like us. They called them gods." Grimoire:
Stormrider I The recent recovery and translation of ancient religious texts by the Cryptarchs has sparked a surge of new powers in our most talented Warlocks. They are driven by some innate ambition to reach the heights that our ancestors reserved only for deities. The Speaker urges caution to these zealous Warlocks when exercising their new abilities, but their curiosity is insatiable. These Stormriders as they call themselves, will not stop until they have mastered the powers of ancient myth.
Grenade Abilities: Tornado Grenade - A grenade that spawns several smaller explosives that create a whirlwind around the location where the grenade landed. Thunder Grenade - A grenade that sticks to surfaces and emits a disorienting blast every few seconds, blinding enemies but dealing minimal damage. Mist Grenade - This grenade covers a large area that slows enemies caught in it and causes minor damage over time while inside. Jump Abilities: Blink - A short distance teleport. Increased Distance - Blink now has increased range. Genesis Fall - Jump and then press (X)/(A) to glide; aiming your weapon while gliding will hold you in place. Releasing the aim button will instantly teleport you back to the ground. Olympia Rise - Double jump to blink, hold the jump button to glide after blinking Super: Typhoon - You becomes charged with Arc Light, firearms become less effective than your own raw power. Melee and blink abilities have no cooldown time. Super Modifiers: Hurricane - Melee kills increase your movement and melee attack speed, this effect stacks. Tsunami - Grenades have increased cool down during Typhoon. Monsoon - Kills during Typhoon will decrease super cool down for your next Typhoon. Melee Ability: Tempest - Fire an Arc projectile at your enemies that staggers them. Melee modifiers: Vajra Blast - Tempest now ricochets off of surfaces and over penetrates targets. Jupiter's Lance - Tempest creates an arc explosion when it hits a target. Seraphim Song - Hitting an ally with Tempest increases their movement speed and weapon damage. Perk Set 1: Golgotha - Dying while Typhoon is active drops a large amount of orbs of light. Samsara - Killing an enemy under the effects of one of your grenades increases grenade cool down significantly. Elysium - Kills with Tempest trigger health regeneration. Perk Set 2: Indra's Wrath- All grenades have increased area of effect. Path of Most Resistance - Taking damage during Typhoon drops orbs of light. Eye of the Storm - Melee projectiles track enemies. Hunter - Shadowstalker "Our allies may still call us guardians, but our enemies have made new names for us." Grimoire:
Shadowstalker I Rumors around the Tower speak of a rogue Warlock in the Reef that is teaching Hunters the power of the Void. The Vanguard have heard the stories, and remained silent. While this new cult still fights for the light, their hunter brothers and sisters are wary of them. Other Guardians are beginning to question how far we should be willing to go in this battle against the Darkness.
Grenade Abilities: Phantom Grenade - A grenade that creates a small void explosion and then slowly tracks nearby enemies with small seekers. (Miniature Shrieker Deathblast) Marker Grenade - A grenade that attaches to a surface and once detonated it will highlight affected enemies and slow their movement speed. Raven Grenade - Upon use this grenade hovers and circles around you and will attach to any enemy that comes too close ad detonate. Jump Abilities: Double Jump - Jump a second time after leaving the ground. Better Control - Upgrades Double Jump for better directional control while in the air. Higher Jump - Upgrades Double Jump for even greater height. Burst Glide - Replaces Double Jump with a speedy Warlock Glide ability. Super: Void Bow - You briefly summon a bow with three shots from the void itself. Consecutive hits on the same target will deal increased damage. (This super is not a one hit kill in Crucible. It will take at least two or a precision hit with the poison perk) Super Modifiers: Bowman - Increases to 5 bolts but reduces damage. Firing from the hip increase fire rate. Assassin - Bolts deal poison damage over time, this effect can stack. Trapper - Reduces total bolts to 2. The bolts stick to surfaces and can be detonated at any time after being fired. Super energy will not recharge until the bolts are detonated. Explosions deal massive damage and suppress enemies within range. Melee Ability: Shadow Bolt - Fire a single bolt from your void bow, hold the melee button to aim your shot. Melee Modifiers: Reaper - Getting a precision hit with Shadow Bolt increases all precision damage for a short time. Plague - Killing an enemy with Shadow Bolt leaves a poison cloud that damages enemies that walk through it. Piercer - Holding the aim button will gradually increase stagger and penetration for Shadow Bolt. Perk Set 1: Pale Rider - Killing an enemy with one of your abilities increases your movement speed and melee damage. Wraith - Activating Void Bow instantly regenerates health and poisons nearby enemies Diana's Gift - Gain one extra Shadow Bolt and one extra shot for Void Bow Perk set 2: Yama's Justice - Phantom Grenades spawn extra seekers and chase targets more aggressively Nightingale - Carry two Raven Grenades and deal increased weapon damage while they are activated Specter - Killing an enemy increases damage of Shadow Bolt for a short time. This effect can stack up to three times. (Stacks last for ten seconds)

  • Additional Crusader Grimoire
Crusader II Lord Saladin was the first to ever awaken such powers as a Titan. During the last stand at the Twilight Gap, after watching many of his finest Titans get cut down by the Fallen, he erupted with the fire of suns. The fury of Saladin and the few soldiers he had left was enough to push back the enemy once more and survive the onslaught. Now the Iron Lord, pleased with what he has seen in recent Tournaments, has decided to train pious Titans in the way of the Crusader.
• Grimoire Shadowstalker III
The first thing you must know is that you will never understand the Void the way that Warlocks do. The difference is too fundamental. Warlocks attain power through knowledge, Hunters attain power through instinct. A Warlock's essence is ethereal, the Hunter's essence is visceral. They can master the Void in a way that you will never outmatch, accept this. But a Hunter.. You may stretch the Void in such a way that some Warlocks may laugh at, but the wiser ones may fear. You will counter the Voidwalker's explosiveness with your precision, their rage against your coldness. But first you must learn of the Void in a way that only a Hunter can understand. First you must hold the image of the loved ones you have lost central in your mind. Hold that image and all it's related grief and sorrow. Hold it as long as you can and then longer. Bathe in that loss, in the knowledge that they will never come back and nothing can replace them. Let this become all you can feel or taste or see. And know that this is the easy part. Now you must erase the image of those loved ones, but retain the feeling. This is the feeling that speaks to the Void, this is how you work with nothingness. You must weaponize your suffering and inflict it on reality. Know that as you shape the Void, so the Void shapes you. Next you must summon a new image. This image usurps that of your lost ones. It is your new companion. Your new brother, sister, wife and husband. It is your weapon. And there is no monster in this universe that may wrench it from your hands. It is built from your own broken hearts and wasted tears. It is a primordial shape, an ancient device which is the rightful inheritance to every Hunter that ever lived. It is a weapon of such power and grace that the gods of the ancient ones wielded it and blessed it to the mortals. It is the Hunters who forged it, and it will forever belong to them. Your Bow is every Hunter's Bow, just as your sorrow is every Hunter's sorrow. Let each bolt you that you let fly rip another soul from reality. Let every arrow pierce the heart of the one who took away what you loved most. This is why they will fear you. You will become the wrath of the dead, the ghosts of what we have lost. This is the first lesson.
Additional Stormrider Grimoire
Stormrider II Listen, Warlock, you may hear outsiders try to call us scholars, thinkers, philosophers, any name they can imagine that would belie our true nature. We are not students - we are weapons; we are not historians - we are events; not scholars - we are destroyers. The Darkness seeks to take everything from us, as it has before. But we have looked into those ancient records and seen the stories that our ancestors told about beings that could not be killed, that struck down their foes with thunder and lightning. They sent chills up each other's spines with legends of deities that wished disaster upon their enemies and made it so. We Stormriders, we are the avatars of such legends. Living storms that dare our enemies to knock upon our doors. We are masters of catastrophe, and the demons that presume to walk upon the worlds that were once ours - they will learn to fear dark skies and heavy clouds. We are oncoming storms, we are the wrath of forgotten gods. Let no mortal tell you otherwise.
And they get secret missions too.. -Secret missions? -Yeah like, tracking down rogue Guardians and stuff.. -I wouldn't talk about that too loudly if I were you. -So you heard the same thing? -I keep my head up, I hear lots of things. -So is that other thing true too? -What other thing? -That the Warlock training them.. that it's..? -... -I heard its that exile. • Warlock Subclass: Arc Caster-”Physical harm is no more than a state of mind.” Super: Mirrored Wrath-Reflect all damage back to it’s point of origin. Stand as a force to be feared, a devastating power given unto itself by your foes. The Traveler’s Light is an enlightening fundament, giving you the power to kill your enemies using their own weapons. Melee: Shock-A charged close-quarters surge of energy that blinds your foes for a limited time, freezes them in place, or continually damages them, depending on the upgrade. Grenades: Current Grenade-A grenade that creates a steady flow of Arc damage throughout the ground in a given area. EMP Grenade-A grenade that knocks out the enemy’s radar for a short time, as well as scrambling their HUD Paralyze Grenade-A grenade that sends out a powerful Arc surge, freezing enemies in place for a short time Jump: Glide-Can be upgraded with general upgrades, final upgrade option is Blink.

              • Like the hunter one except for the super. It's too much like golden gun. It should summon 2 captains or enemies from the void that would be your allies and would help you kill you enemies. (they would be spawned as majors at your level)

Here's my first idea for new exotics, this one is for the Shadowstalker class. The Known Unknown "We have --- been honest, ---- ------ ---- know the truth. The light cannot fail, --- ---- -- ---- do not draw power from the dark." -The Speaker to the City Consensus after the ---- ------ incident Incisive Maintenance - Doing damage with your Melee attack decreases your grenade cooldown. Switchblade - Increased melee attack speed. Forbidden Knowledge - During your super you can see enemies through walls and one random shot from your Void Bow will penetrate any obstacles.

                    •
Posted this in some other threads, but I still like it.
Class: Storm Caller Grenades: Static Field Explodes and creates an area of effect that slows any enemies trapped inside. Lightning Rod Calls down a bolt of lightning at the point of impact and launches enemies away from the point of impact. Electro Magnet When attached to an enemy it draws nearby enemies towards it and explodes. If not attached to an enemy it only explodes. Melee: Lightning Bolt A bolt travels from your hands in a straight line. Can cause precision damage. Perks Flash: A precision hit blinds your enemy Chain Lightning: Can no longer crit, but chains to two nearby enemies. Overcharge: A kill with lightning bolt grants an overshield to you and two nearby allies. Super: Lightning Cage Lightning explodes from you creating a dome of lightning that does an initial burst of damage and continuous damage to enemies inside. Perks Battery: Your Lightning Cage continuously charges the shields of allies inside of it. If shields are full it charges an overshield. Short circuit: Your Lightning Cage blinds enemies in range on activation and creates a second burst of damage. There is no lingering dome or continuous damage. Defibrillate: Your lightning cage revives any dead guardians in its range on activation. Guardians revived do 50% damage for 6 seconds after being revived in this way. Jumps Same as Void Walker. Perk Tree 1 Control the Winds Your Glide abilities have increased duration and speed. Blink has its distance increased. Capacitors The duration of over shields created by your abilities is increased. Melee attacks against you while over shielded damage the attacker. One with the storm Blink is reduced to one charge but creates an explosion and blinds enemies at both the position you activated it from and where you blink to. Perk Tree 2 Arc Weapons While you and your allies are under the effect of an overshield from one of your abilities, weapons do additional arc damage. Blink Grenades Your Grenades teleport instantly to their location in a straight line. No limit on distance. Friendly Fire Allies in the range of your grenades or struck by your lightning bolt have their shields recharged and do increased weapon damage for 5 seconds. Edit: Tried to balance between support and offense. There is a direct path to being a true support character while also having fun offensive options. Just a dream for me and something I had fun thinking up :)

                        • Dang this seems so similar to my idea, but I like your melee better Hunter - Void subclass Specter "Haunt your foes with the power of the void." • The Warlock super just reads as a Arc version of Radiance. The Hunter super is a Void version of Golden Gun. The rest of the ideas are decent, but those need rethought.

                          • Deep thought, but damn those supers suck. Someone is definantly butt hurt over golden gun. Aren't supers supposed to 1 hit in crucible?

                            • In my opinion to even the playing field appropriately, the warlock would need a close range aoe super, Hunter a defensive/ally boosting, and titan a ranged super

                              • Very cool ideas. I like the idea of these classes being a middle ground between the offensive and defensive classes.
