My crucible experience tonight: 1st game, 150-85. Teams broken up afterwards. 2nd game, 150-84. Teams broken up afterwards. 3rd game, dumped into a game in progress where the score was 88-24 when I loaded in. Before I could even exit, Shax announces the mercy. Decided to play Ghost of Tsushima. Bungie, you need to bring back some form of SBMM. At the point where I'm actually leaning towards not purchasing the next expansion.

Faster matchmaking and less lag

5 RepliesYou have a 0.9 kd It’s you that needs to practice up instead of wanting everything catered to you. You even have little playtime in crucible so bring back sbmm would do nothing for you since you rarely play it https://destinytracker.com/destiny-2/profile/psn/demon_squad120/overview

5 RepliesThere needs to a a choice of skill or connection. Matchmaking is boring for me and painful for my friends. Give us a choice, Bungie.
-
7 RepliesI am an average to below average Crucible player and SBMM was way too sweaty for me. It really made me want to stop playing Crucible altogether back when it was a thing in regular playlists. I’m glad Bungie brought back CBMM. It’s not perfect but it’s wayyy better than SBMM.
-
4 RepliesNo. SBMM only belongs in competitive game modes. Nobody wants to sweat in quickplay
-
42 RepliesAs a low level pvp player. I like how pvp is now.
-
Bad players still complaining that a mode has CBMM...perhaps patrols are more your speed.
-
7 RepliesYeah no sbmm is pure trash, you arent entitled to play in the kiddie pool in casual modes
-
5 RepliesAgree just how awful 6v6 is. Decided to get pinnacle drops on my 3 characters for the first time in a year or so and went through control for all of them. Just horrible experience, either near mercy of other team or the reverse. Refuse to play again until there is proof things are changing.
-
I was playing Control a few weeks back and they had a clan with 5 members on one team with a sole blueberry. It was a total stomping by them. Then the match ended in a mercy and the message came up about how the teams were going to be broken up, etc. The next match starts and it's the 5 stack and a different blueberry with them. Annihilation ensues again. So that was funny. I quit Control and played Survival instead. Much better.

Under this current meta, and the OHK weapons that we have, there is no difference between the 2 modes. In SBMM there was plenty matches that ended in Mercy, same in CBMM - no difference for me. I am a very below average player, and I genuinely dont care if it is CBMM or SBMM, as I will die the same, no matter what connection mode is. What I have noticed with CBMM, is longer queue times, more players lagging, hit detection issues, and more dubious players and what I havent noticed with CBMM is more skilled players. So I understand your frustration with CBMM, but for me - I cant relate to it in that way.

I dont think it is a matter of SBMM or CBMM. Matchmaking is simply terrible. Last Iron Banner I made a quick list of mercies or blowouts where the teams were broken up and decently matched games (within 35 points) and games that were just barely not a a blowout. Of the games I played, 60 games were mercies and blowouts. 10 Were evenly matched and 16 were borderline blowout. Matchmaking sucks.

Bump for common sense and visibility

I'm honestly embarrassed to play this game anymore, I think I'm with you on not buying that dlc. If I did buy it I would just be paying 70$ for no time to explain. And WHAT THE **** is up with charging full game prices for dlc even with the battle pass model in place. Disgusting.

13 RepliesEdited by Hatter: 10/15/2020 7:36:33 PMThis message is for you and for all the other players who are not very good at PVP at the moment. You guys need to recognize something right now. It is the end of the season. Meaning the people who are currently playing PVP are people who very much like PVP. It's not the casuals right now because right now the casuals are mostly tapped out in terms of the drought of content. Hell, even mid to hardcore players like myself are currently playing other games simply because of the content trout. I'll occasionally come back every day or so and play a few matches in PvP, but most of my time right now is in final fantasy grinding for my relic or playing Minecraft dungeons with my girlfriend trying to find a blasted perfect roll diamond sword. so whatever you think of connection-based matchmaking or skill-based matchmaking, right now you're going to get a skewed result. Of course you're going to get more players who are really good right now. Of course you're going to get stomped a little bit more right now. Because the people who are playing right now are very good. Overall, over the course of the entire season to me, skill-based matchmaking removed has been better overall. as I have noticed playing PVP across the entire season, and I played nearly every single day, some matches happen very competitive, some matches I have blown out completely. Some matches I have been blown out. Holistically it feels better at least to me it does. As me, who has been playing for years upon years this game and has honed his skills in PVP, it's not a chore for me to always have to go hard in PVP. In fact, my favorite build right now that I'm in the process of mastering is a sidearm and a bow. I've gotten lemon art pretty well down, next is wish ender. but, I do understand how it might be harder for you right now. I just thought I'd share that this results is more so the result of time. And this happens with every game. That is a long game like this.

Nov 10th it’ll return

There are cheaters in nearly every match, and incompetent bungie pigs do not care. Cheaters and laggers are the problem, not the sweats.
-
33 RepliesNo, good players dont gr segregated from you because they took the time and effort to get better and you didnt, stick to comp if you want that kind of mm
-
It was broken when they tried sbmm.
-
Try back next month crucible is a shitshow right now but with the hardware upgrades and deej leaving and all the new shit being added in it who know bungie could sneak in a crucible sandbox change as well to the mix.
-
Look at my previous odd of winning on tracker and tell me sbmm works
-
This isn't an issue with the lack of sbmm, it's an issue with lobby balancing. They could quite easily have matchmaking heavily focus on connecting but properly balance the lobbies to prevent these matches taking place so regularly. Sadly that doesn't look like it's any kind of priority for Bungie.

Edited by WWF98bc: 10/15/2020 10:15:54 PMYesterday I had probably my worst experience of playing PVP lost probably 15 games and was also tilted as all hell. I'm saying this because I'm against SBMM and I really think bungie should be forces on balances and fixing the delay spawns. Instead of bringing back SBMM and hurting connection in games.
-
2 RepliesI don't think it would be as noticeable if they'd actually balance teams more effectively. I don't mind playing a team with a player or two above my skill level, a couple at my skill level and a couple below. However, it seems they don't do a very good job balancing teams and it's nearly always lopsided.
-
Yeah because your team probably refused to cap and control zones. As do a majority of players in destiny.
-
Screw this stupid "SBMM", just match stacks vs. stacks and solos vs. solos.
