Resident Evil 4 is one of the best REs made
Besides the original Resident Evil, RE4 is easily the next best entry in the series.
What's your favorite?

1 ReplyJust bought it on PSN. This is my fourth copy of the game (GameCube, PS2, and PS3 before it), but I don't care. This is a game I could easily slam down $20 for it again without a second thought.

Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 are my favorites. Looking forward to the HD remake of RE2 that's coming.

RE4 is definitely my favorite, had the perfect amount of horror, survival, and action IMO.

RE4 is my favourite followed by Code Veronica :) 6 was trash, 5 was good but never finished it because of the stupid NPC always taking a nosedive into lava on the final boss fight :(

After watching some streams I've learned there are time reducing tricks I didn't know about, so I may be able be to beat my best time. RE4 was so hyped. I hated that game at launch because it just wasn't RE. I thought Code Veronica was obscure but RE4 added mechanics and a story that changed a lot it deserved to be its own spinoff. However, I did buy a slim PS2 with a copy of RE4 when that version was released. I decided to give it another playthrough because I was still a fan of the series. Not only did Resi 4 have the best storyline, game play mechanics, and character design, it also by far had the most awesome weapons cache of most shooters since the likes of DOOM. Chicago Typewriter anyone?

My least favorite is 0 because Terrible story, how does Rebecca end up in the same place in Resident Evil 2, terrible final boss (a final fantasy character?) The hookshot, no item boxes, leech zombies and their hitboxes, bosses are really lame (proto tyrant twice seriously), Billy was a throwaway character, controlling two characters is a nightmare especially in the leech queens first part, the AI is on par with RE5. Rebecca was garbage and no reason to play as her, they give her all this weaponry in 0 then when she goes to the mansion she just loses it all as evidenced by not being able to do anything about the Hunter that corners her in REmake. (they deliberately separate the characters and make you control Rebecca towards the end of the game in 0). Game was a chore the whole way through, It was supposed to be an N64 game originally and it shows. At least the graphics are nice, the atmosphere is pretty good, and Wesker mode is fun.

It pretty much revolutionized the survival horror franchise, and made every third-person shooter change their perspective from directly behind the character to over the shoulder. It is without a doubt one of my favorite games, but I still like RE 2 and 3 more. I loved the A/B scenario system in 2, and the anticipation caused by being chased by Mr. X (2) and Nemesis (3). Also, am I the only one who actually likes the water puzzle from RE 3?
