Back in the day there was this beta gorilla who got teased by the Alpha monkeys. The monkeys said "If you can get your whole race to like cut off their tails you will be like totally alpha bro", the gorilla convinced his fellow gorillas to cut off their tails (what he told them has been lost to the ages).
