No thank you. Bungie needs to focus on fixing the game before looking at anything else, including Marathon.
-
1 ReplyNo. If it ever happened Bungie would probably offer an emblem for anyone watching 2 hours or more. ;)
-
3 RepliesKnowing they can't even mange to actually make a story let alone a complete one. It will be just as bad as The Last of Us Series, and a Movie would be even worse.
-
1 ReplyYes. The lore is there. Sony has studios for animation and I'm sure they can make something. Not to mention merchandise for sales. Tie it in to old lore or start from Apollo and do something every week or 2. Give some of those MAPPA workers freedom. Spend money to make it.

at the rate bungie is going, they won't exist as a studio for much longer but sure, give them the idea to make a movie or tv series that'd really bankrupt them and then we'd all be free of destiny and bungie forever

Some time ago, there were a few short clips of HALO done with real actors and, cgi and stuff…and they were pretty good! One was of a hit squad vs. a big robot dog - think Boston Dynamics’ little ‘dog’ made for war; it was done well and quite scary! Another, was at a Space Cadet Academy, where some rather large and menacing HALO enemies invaded…it, too, was full of tension and scary too! There were a few other examples, but I can’t recall them right now. Sony Movie Division could do something similar…as long as they didn’t ‘cartoonise’ the characters and make them ‘silly’… If it was done in a similar way to the clips mentioned above, it’d be a film or Series worth watching, imho. Itmt: Skeletor animations are always a hoot! 😁 Ease Springs! 🫡

A series, when they reach episode 4 they'll remove episodes 1 - 3 to the dcv then every episode after will be identical but with dubbed over new dialogue.
-
2 RepliesDestiny is like if Halo didn't have good lore. We saw the Halo show.
-
"I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain" "Until it didn't" Considering we don't know what is the traveler actually until now or why does it run away from the darkness, I doubt we'll have an interesting series or movie
-
1 ReplyNo. Video game movies and series are very hit or miss right now. For every Fallout, you have a Halo. For every Sonic the Hedgehog, you have a Borderlands. It's a massive gamble if it'll be successful or not, and Destiny is not the position to be taking a risk like that.
-
Does Destiny have the quality of characters and world to justify such a thing?
-
It would have to be animated to be any good. There's just so much more that can be done in animation.
-
Absolutely not, there isn't the appetite for it. Besides, if it kept to the spirit of the game, only 5% of the people tuning in would get to watch the series but only after doing $500 million worth of free promotion for it, while the other 95% would just get 8 hours of title cards with the words '-blam!- You' printed on it...

Edited by STARKILLER2258: 9/27/2024 12:54:42 PMIt would be nerfed , spread out over 8 weeks, only watchable on a 3" screen, at half volume, and while wearing an eye patch.

3 RepliesAh, yes: “Loving my hot robot man”, coming this summer.
sorry did you expect the movie to NOT be about Saint and Osiris?
-
9 RepliesEdited by HITACHI-NR83A: 9/27/2024 8:07:25 PMAs long as saint 14 and Osiris are not present in the show
-
1 ReplyI'd want this to exist simply because it would be a bigger disaster than Concord. The sheer amount of wokeness and pandering alone would be off the charts
-
Hopefully never.

Edited by lonewolf-qc: 9/27/2024 9:07:02 PMIf they would do it, i think a series shoud be more appropriate just for the sheer amount of lore to deal with. On the subject of being good or not, it would depend on whether they can find a director with a vision, that can be faithfull to the source material and find actors/actresses that embodies those characters.
-
I expect Sony to go down this road to recoup losses. Considering how much they overpaid, it was probably on their radar from the get go. Will it be good? Probably not. Unless they hand it off to somebody with a real vision for it and let them do their thing. More likely it will be made by committee and painful to watch.

2 Repliesbro thought he was onto something🗣😭
-
With the current state of things no. Ultra visual super powers are expensive.
-
Wouldn't mind a series of small one-shot stories A show following a consistent story could work, but I have little faith I think a movie has way too much exposition to explain and probably wouldn't be very good
-
No thanks. Misallocation of resources.

Edited by The Hermit IX: 9/27/2024 9:11:20 PMSeries for sure seeing there’s way too much to cover in a movie. It’s hysterical people downvoted this thread. Some people are truly miserable.
