im on a 7 day fast right now. Currently on hour 43. supposedly by day 3 you achieve ketosis and it’s much better because your body begins to consume your fat for fuel, but day 2 is the worst. maximum hunger, minimal energy. i’m fatigued just from a 30 minute walk.
but anyways, i’m 6’ and 200 pounds, trying to get down to 180, wish me luck

I misread the title. I thought the "A" was an "I"

2 RepliesI hope you are able to achieve good health regardless. Please don't go making yourself ill though. In your quest for this, have you altered your food volume and what foods you are eating?

Feasting

Just a little heads up once you start eating again your body could go into shock or you just gain all that weight again

but anyways, i’m 6’ and 200 pounds, trying to get down to 180, wish me luck
You won't do that in a week. In fact, unless you're experienced at fasting, trying to go a week is a solid way to set yourself up for failure. What's your BMR? A pound of fat has approximately 3500 calories. Even if your BMR is a super high 4000 calories a day, 7 days gets you 7 pounds. Going into ketosis will burn a little more, and it will certainly burn the right stuff, but it's not going to get you that 20 pounds. A ketogenic diet can be a great way to drop weight, but starvation is not the way to do it. You could actually sabotage yourself by losing some muscle mass and the ability to burn more calories while you sleep.

8 RepliesI’ll take your 20lbs for you. Then I get to go up to 150lbs. I’m 6ft and maybe 130lbs. But good luck! I’m too wimpy for a fast

Edited by Speaker: 9/25/2024 3:05:32 PMKetosis never seemed like a healthy way to lose weight to me. 6 ft 180 pounds is a goal, I suppose. But 6 ft 200 lbs is not an unhealthy weight, my dude.

1 ReplyCongratulations! I assume you're going into this dieted and with a plan, in which case you have my full support. I've only ever fasted in a religious context, so let me know how it goes for you.
