If hardware replaces regular crucible I'm going to cry

Hardware takes the vibrant, carefully crafted (sometimes cheesy) sandbox Destiny has given us over the years and subverts it into a teamshot, peakshot simulator. If Bungie replaces regular Crucible with hardware, they will have truly abandoned anyone who dares call themselves casual, anyone who just likes to sit down and have a good time in the explodey arcade shooter. I am aware that no official material was published indicating that hardware would replace traditional Crucible, I'm simply basing my concerns on what happened with checkmate as well as the sheer amount of fear I have for this possibility. I have a few reasons to believe that they would never go through with something like this, the two most prominent being that I imagine that there are many players like me who enjoy the fun, unpredictable (again, sometimes cheesy) nature of abilities in pvp. The second, and likely most important, is that Bungie always uses new abilities (Stasis, Strand, Prismatic) as primary marketing vectors for new DLC and I imagine that there are numerous players, namely pvp mains and those on tighter budgets (because let's be honest, expansions are pretty expensive), that would simply lose interest in new releases since they can't use their powerful, shiny, new powers against other players (a.k.a about 1/4 of the intended play experience). I'm asking Bungie, as a player who has loved this game unconditionally for 5+ years and spent over 5000 hours in game (about half in pvp), to never, ever consider replacing conventional crucible with hardware
