Shadowkeep?

After reading Bungie's announcement for the future of Destiny 2, I'm excited to finally return back to the game and enjoy what's in store and how Destiny should finally become what it was supposed to be. It's been almost over a year since I last played, is it worth getting the Shadowkeep DLC to catch up with everything I've missed before September's new DLC? Any other tips before I head back in the world of Destiny?

In terms of the in-game story campaign, Shadowkeep doesn't offer very much. The lore pretty much serves only as a brief bridge into Season of Arrival/Beyond Light. The final mission is very cool, but the rest of it is a bit of a drag. Thanks to sunsetting, the only content from Shadowkeep that's going to matter moving forward is the Garden of Salvation raid and the exotic quests, namely Xenophage and Divinity, which are admittedly S-Tier raid weapons. If you REALLY want to raid and get those exotics, then go for it. If you just play casually and don't care about endgame, you won't miss much by skipping it. You need luck on your side to consistently find friendly, competent fireteams in LFG.
