Do y'all not remember Destiny 1 or what. Weapons and armor were locked out every dlc and it took you until what was it? Taken king or Rise of Iron to change it. I didn't like doing a raid 40+ times to get a Fatebringer for it to be light locked the next week. The best time of D1 was when literally every gun was viable because they could all be max light.
There's guns that can be very good but either don't have the right perks in the perk pool or don't have random rolls at all. For example, Battle Scar is one of my favorite pulses but was never updated, same with Annual Skate. You re-introduced the hand cannon that could challenge spare (jack queen king) gave it not the best perk pool, and kept it seasonal so if you couldn't get a good one sucks to suck ha ha (I didn't get a good one). I finally got my first, good Mindbender's last week and now its gonna be irrelevant. (Been farming for a good one since forsaken btw)
Also realize you are re-introducing guns in later seasons. Why are you making people re-grind gear they already grinded for and have?
You added things that you can't figure out how to balance (recluse in pve, specials in pvp) and rather than finding a balance you're punishing everything else because... don't know!
Bungie, Why should I bother to spend money to grind and invest countless hours if everything I earn is going to be irrelevant?
Why have I spent hundreds on dlcs since day 1 D1 only to now have to start from scratch, on par with free players. Nothing to show other than an emblem. Instead of locking light, make things stop being allowed to be earned. If I have Redrix I should be able to use it at max light. It'd be a legacy gun for long time players who earned it when available kind of like event guns (Horror Story/Braytech Werewolf). Limited time. Don't force long time players to use the same things as first day players. Does our play time mean nothing to you?
Edit: added more and fixed typos
Edit 2: I genuinely love Destiny. Please do not ruin it like this.

Doesn't sound very good since you don't want to just buff every other future handcannon up to the current best. And the Mindbender's is unfortunate, but there is going to be a *probably* better shotgun by the time the new community quest is over. And also, 2 years of farming, and not a single Quickdraw one? Most of the weapons Bungie has re-introduced are the weapons from Year 1, and gave them random rolls. I don't see anything really bad about that. And Bungie is even bringing back some weapons from this years expansions, which kinda blows for the people that grinded for them in the first place, but most of those weapons weren't used by the majority anyways because we had an entire years worth of weapons (Forsaken) that were guaranteed to stay. Why play when all your gear is going to be irrelevant?? Why play at all when there may be a new Destiny game? Why play the game in Year 7, (in a world where sunsetting didn't happen), if you already have your entire vault full of godroll armor, all MW'd, and all your weapons with the same "best roll" on them? You know you can't get better armor, so no reason to grind more than once because transmogs, and you already have the best roll on every weapon archetype 7x over. So what would be the point in looting, in a looter shooter game. It would just be a shooter, and we know Bungie's activities alone aren't enough to keep players busy for even a month, let alone 3. Sunsetting needs to happen to actually keep the looting relevant in a looter shooter game. Otherwise everyone would just be walking around with essentially god mode, and the game would become more boring than ever, even despite how horribly boring it is right now, it would be worse if there was no challenge to anything.

1 ReplyBungie has absolutely no idea what the hell they are doing anymore. When they were with Activision, they had an actual incentive to be careful and not alienate players with updates. They are so laughably out of touch with their players.

We all know bungo is incapable of releasing enough new weapons and armors/mods, I mean seriously if they can release that much new content they won't need the infusion shit in the first place, but my concern is that with the sunset I will lose all my masterwork high stat armors, I've been playing this game since y1 when I didn't even know destiny has a forum and continued to play for 1000+hours in year3, currently, I have about six sets of high stat masterwork armors for my titan(one for sniper mod, one for machine gun, shot gun..etc) and three sets for my warlock and hunter, I can not in all honesty say that I have obtained enough good armors for me to deal with different activities, and I don't see the possibility that anyone can get those sets of armors and masterwork them every year.

3 RepliesIt’s almost funny. They gonna make my Not Forgotten (for example) expire. Then make me grind for it again? What the? Why??? The answer....wait for it....just because. Lol!!!

4 RepliesEdited by US Reaper x: 5/15/2020 4:41:48 PMThe Only Way Sunsetting Weapons Will Work Listen I’m not totally for or against sunsetting the legendary weapons I have used for months and even years at this point. But Bungie, you need to understand one thing. After sunsetting, if you continue to release similar guns with the same perks in the sandbox, this will be one of the biggest failures in Destiny history (You will be kissing your fan base goodbye). In this case players will just feel like they are grinding for the same guns they have already earned all over again. We should expect from you bungie, that after sunsetting, there will be a new and diverse meta in PvE and PvP. New perks, and I mean a ton of new perks in all archetypes, so that weapons feel fresh and modern. In order to take our minds off our old gear and to ensure we aren’t banging our heads grinding for the same rolls we farmed for back in season of the drifter, we need new perks never seen before in destiny history. I’m thinking basically all vanilla D2 perks should be cut. Sorry, no outlaw, kill clip rampage etc. I’m ok if perks released in the past two seasons (vorpal, lead from gold, etc) are preserved because these perks have had shorter lifespan as. But only as long as there is a hefty pool of new perks. Boys if you don’t want power creep and you don’t want to regrind the same weapons, this is the solution. It will take a lot of work and creativity from bungie. That’s the point. We need fresh content, stuff that we can talk about and be excited for, stuff that we can test the viability and fit into our builds like the good old days when perks felt fresh. The rest of this post is open to your thoughts and perk suggestions you would like to see. Feel free to post ideas and if I like them I’ll add them. (I’m not feeling particularly creative right now 🤷♀️). Perks!! 1. Double Kills increase reload speed of partially reload mag. 2. Sprinting with gun in hand charges the gun, increases damage and/or adds AOE splash effect (set amount of sprint time required)(thinking like turning your primary into a hive boomer after sprinting a long time) 3. Using a class ability gives you a temporary period where shots come directly from reserves (magazine doesn’t deplete but reserves will)(maybe cool on a shotgun, sniper or GL) 4: Getting a precision kill temporarily slows nearby enemies (like firefly but adds slow effect instead of direct dmg) 5: Getting a melee kill temporarily buffs your weapons rate of fire to the next archetype (so a 750 smg would temporarily be buffed to 900 rpm) Not all perks have to be complex, they just have to be different Edit I do not balance video games so And these perks will have to be balanced carefully around PvP that goes without saying.

We have this system because the big and ugly bearded guy wants to game to be like wow lol. Except that in WoW you dont care about your weapons as they are just stats. You dont feel them when you use them. In a fps you have the skin..the sound..the handling..the perks..the overall feeling of power. I love using my actual guns in endgame. They want me to replace those for....wich reasons ? Oh yeah to not feel like im too strong, aka to not feel like a legend. If they really wanted the game to be difficult they would just make the ennemies stronger (instead of tankier)

5 RepliesThanks to sunsetting weapons we got Eyasluna and Hung Jury. I would wait to criticize until we get the end results in September, we might get weapons that are better then mindbenders and spare rations. Just trying to be optimistic and if it doesn’t look good I’ll simply look for a new game to pay

3 RepliesRestricting weaponry.......-glances at LFGs-. Sorry but the community does this too.

The best time of D1 was when literally every gun was viable because they could all be max light.
In D1, the unique setup was: - vision of confluence/fatebringer - black hammer - Gjallahorn And you needed Gjallahorn for most LFG raids... So, not sure every gun was viable..

12 RepliesAh yes, thank you for reminding me of the good ol' days before infusion. This further cements how this change is needed, and desired.
