To be honest, I don't think Destiny should have Competitive, period
That's what I liked about D1 PvP. There wasn't any form of competitiveness for me. It was always about having fun and I feel like that "Fun" has gone with all of these changes made to this game for it to be classed as "Competitive".
I'm sorry if this comes across as hurtful to you but I'm just throwing my 2 strange coins in. There are PLENTY of competitive games that would definitely give you your fix. Rainbow Six Siege, TF2, CS:GO, Overwatch even Paladins is a decent competitive game and that's FREE.
I'd love to hear other opinions on this, But PLEASE be civil.

I just feel as if it should have been quickplay focused. I don't mind having a training playlist for Trials, but thats all it should be. Forcing it to be more start sucking any kind of fun I try to have in Destiny 2 PvP. In D1 I was a top 1% pvp player in year one because I had so much fun in it even in trials sometimes. Here, I feel like I am pulling my teeth every match of competitive, I just want it to end. I know I can easily get rank 3 by just playing the game a lot, but that feels like crap that I have to play something I hate a lot instead of every so often.
