Essentially, the PvE content released alongside this update was just meant to be a nice little extra bit from Bungie to give you highly demanding PvE players something to bite
I'm sorry, "highly demanding PvE players"? Are you -blam!-ing serious? Because there's been SO much to do since TTK dropped after Bungie cut off 70% of this game from relevancy and have only released PvP stuff since. The SAME PvP stuff that now has PvE in a sorry state because of all the "balances".

Highly demanding isn't specifically a bad thing. And truthfully it applies to PvPers too. It just means that both sub-communities have a lot of strong ideas as to how to improve the game, because we all want it to do and be better. Highly demanding is true, but it's because we care.

I don't think OP meant it like that.

I am the OP.
-
Oh. Yeah. I don't think you meant it like that...
-
I did, but reading back I can see how it came across as a little more abrasive than I intended.

PvP has gotten everything it's ever wanted, this game is going to shit because of the "demands" on one side of the fence.

Edited by Moot: 4/14/2016 12:27:48 AMWell, because Destiny is an FPS, it requires PvP to keep the game alive between content drops (like all other common FPSs). As fun as PvE content can be, it's usually not very replayable and hence PvE activity will usually plummet a couple weeks after a content release (or a few hours in the case of this update). PvP however has that 'replayability' factor that PvE lacks, and so many developers see this as a reason to focus more time on PvP; because they see it as a more important factor to keeping the game played. I don't think Bungie is an exception to this.

Last year they just continually dropped expansions to keep the game alive. Weird strategy, I know, but it worked.

Personally, I enjoyed that strategy more. And I think the majority of others did too, despite the sometimes absurd prices.

Totally agree.
