I want to discus elo.
So ive recently made some new guardian friend with whomive been playing trials iron banner and pvp.
They SUCK at it, but i have fun.
My kd is oft3n 2 or 4 or more where theirs is 0.3 or so.
We lose most of the time.
Is this bad for my elo?
And tell me what you think of elo ranking in comparrisment to k/d and is elo what you look for in lets say trials?

14 RepliesElo is only influenced by wins and losses. K/d doesn't have any part in influencing your elo score. You start off with a base elo of 1200 points. When you win matches, your elo goes up. When you lose matches, your elo goes down. This is what makes elo a pain in the ass, typically it drops faster than it raises, so you have to win A LOT and lose very minimally to make any significant changes to it. While your friend has a low k/d, I'm assuming that he loses a lot, don't take this the wrong way as I'm not trying to make fun of him but that can actually be good for you and your elo. If he has an extremely low elo, and you're able to carry him in a fireteam and actually win the games, that could bump your elo up immensely. Carrying lower level elo players helps to raise your elo score faster when you win. Also, when you play against multiple players who have a much higher elo score than yourself, and you win, that's what's called an upset and that is another way of greatly increasing your elo score. Basically, if you're worried about elo, you want to focus on winning.
