If you do the math on high RoF autos it's .04% of 10 to the body and this is .004 damage per shot (or .0004 per 1 damage dealt) meaning after 250 body shots you would get 1 damage extra...but who goes for bodyshots anyway right? So headshot modifier for this auto archtype is 1.5. Given that the extra damage for a headshot comes out to .006 (or .0006 for every 1 damage dealt). This means in pvp you would need to shoot someone in the head 167 times to get 1 extra damage. Jon says that is meaningful.
If that is meaninful how can you describe a change of 6 to my lyudmila-d? I would need to shoot an auto 1,750 times to someones body to equal the number you have nerfed my pulse rifle PER BULLET.
Jon I can't support a company that thinks I am this stupid...You lied and are now standing by that lie.
EDIT after seeing some of these people defend such behavior and butcher their maths I can't even...on a scale of one to ten I can't.

10 RepliesEdited by Truthiness_Inc: 12/11/2015 3:16:20 PMReconSpecter wrote this and I stole it hahahaha take that you brilliant bastard Activision/Bungle Holiday Party Big wigs: "We are happy to announce that everyone will be getting 4% raises this year" Bungle employees: Cheers around the room. A month later when the first checks with their raises are handed out- Bungle employees:" What? Where are our raises that we were told about? Um?? Big Wigs, we have all noticed some discrepancy on our checks as to our raises, and it seems you took away some other benefits without telling us either." Big Wigs: "We're sorry everyone..there was a typo in the speech at the Holiday Party and we didn't catch it. As to why? Well we don't have an explanation for that. What we really meant was that you will be receiving a .04% raise. Now we heard you all happily having discussions about how this would benefit you and what you could do with this extra money, we even joined in on some of these conversations. But in the end we don't know how we didn't catch our error. Now you might be disappointed at this .04% pay raise...but as you see...you don't really see any extra money on this check..but by the end of the year, 52 checks, you will see how this raise has made % of pennies into a dime or so . Now go lie to our fan base some more and make us more money. Oh and yes we did make some of your benefits smaller and hoped you wouldn't catch on..Shame on us.."

I tweet Jon boy at Bungie every few days to remind him how awful he is at his job.

5 RepliesBungie earlier this year, nobody uses pulse rifles so we are going to buff them to make them a viable option. https://www.bungie.net/7_Destiny-Weapon-Tuning/en/News/News?aid=12557 Bungie now, people are using pulse rifles so we are going to nerf them below the values they were at when nobody used them...

69 RepliesEdited by SquirtleSquad: 12/11/2015 1:39:54 PMIt's actually amazing AMAZING how stupid some people are justifying the auto rifle "changes". "Look at the changes as a whole!" "I've noticed the slight buff, it's just right!" It's literally no change in pvp. No change. It's clearly an error with the decimal point when coding. They told us weeks out what the numbers were, and again as it rolled out. These numbers seemed good! Then they made an error. Instead of admitting the error, they try and lie (terribly might I add). Then the people with 70IQs come crawling out of the woodwork gobbling it up because he mentioned maths to you. Here's a tip - understand percentages before making literally brain melting stupid comments. If you're one of the few who do understand, and still defending it. WHY EVEN MENTION A CHANGE THEN. It's not a change at all. They should have left it out of the patch notes. In every conceivable way this is Bungie -blam!-ing you with your own stupidity and thinking you'll accept it.
-
Also bump. Just so Bungie keeps getting reminded about their "little hiccups"
-
You're exactly right. Bungie is dishonest to it's customer base and will continue to be. Their PR will only get worse at this rate. Unless mindless drones continue to defend them, which sadly they will. Although less and less people will defend them as the BS continues.

3 RepliesEdited by onininja: 12/12/2015 9:35:29 PMMy look at buffs and nerfs (i will be rounding down)(my light level was 300)(please note that no perks were used) I did this test earlier today Auto rifles, I will use my suros ari-45 It's 280 light has 25 rounds and does 45 per shot to a dreg in the cosmodrome at close range That's 1125 per clip(non precision) in patch 2.1 after the .3% boost In 2.0 it would have been 1121 So over a whole clip it will add 4 damage yes a whole 4 damage amazing Pulse rifles, lyudmila d....4 burst It's 280 light has 36 rounds and does 38 per shot to a dreg in the cosmodrome at close range That's 1368 per clip(non precision) in patch 2.1 after the 14.23% reduction In 2.0 it would have been 1562 So over a whole clip it came down a whopping 194 yes 194 I did this because I like numbers and was curious how good my auto rifles might be now. I saved a red spectre just because this buff was coming and was going to be huge oops. Lol I'll still play and just keep mixing it up. And hey guardians let's be careful out there and remember that it's US against all them not each other ;) I will do a scout rifle in the next couple days

Jon is the real definition of retard. Fire him and get some one that can actually balance your game bungie and do it right

7 RepliesWhere did you get your math from? My Silimar's Wrath hits for 13 body and 16 to the head. It has a mag of 66. That means the entire mag all together gains a 2.64 damage boost. It might not sound like a lot, but it could be the difference between winning and losing a firefight. Think about those times where you died and the other guy had the tiniest amount of health left. Now, he'll die and you'll live in the same encounter. ARs aren't exactly weak, they're usable if you can track an enemy, they didn't need a buff really.

35 RepliesYou can all stop playing or, more preferably, just get off the forums. I'm having a blast in the game, like the hundreds of thousands of other people who aren't posting on the forum. You don't speak for us, you aren't the community.

17.3%

The damage calculations aren't that simple. Odds are the used multiplier to make easy damage changes at some point in coding. Saves a bit of time right there, but months later when you have to rebalance, the numbers no longer change proportionally for each weapon class based on the open area left for balance adjustments. Only good side in the long run that I can think of to an over complicated system like that would be that you could be very precise with changes across many randomized weapons. But it also requires a ton of time to get all those numbers right.

4 RepliesEdited by ZeroBlackHawk: 12/11/2015 4:31:14 PMNow we see why Crucible is so unbalanced. Jon's incompetent at balancing weapons. Not noticing a typo for 3 weeks that everyone was talking about on the forums. Like dafuq.? I say let Shane who did the Titan nerf and buff balance weapons, he seems he knows what he's doing.
-
3 RepliesI think they realized that buffing auto rifles that much while nerfing pulses so bad would have been a really poor balance so they changed the numbers and didn't actually change auto rifles in the game. They knew that dropping the percentages that much wouldn't affect anything.

1 ReplyHere's an idea. Don't bother playing the game. Find something else to play. There's a lot of really good new games out now that should keep enough of you preoccupied until destiny 2. Then you don't pre order destiny 2. Bungie are then forced to put in a lot more effort to grab the attention of people prior to release in the form of really awesome looking trailers and game play. Then buy the game on release and you will discover that they have cut a lot of content and that PvP is still completely unbalanced and will always be in games of this type. The moral of the story is... Stop pandering to bungie's ego. They make these changes to merely see how people react, without any intention of making the game balanced, because that would require actual work.
