The Longest Day: Part 2

*Side note: Weapons mentioned have links for their images at the bottom* 8:33 The Canyons Vincent took a deep breath. He had hardly been outside the City and each time surprised him. The browns of the ground and the yellow of the sun made the dessert come alive. All the time he spent in the City studying the Guardian became a bore at times. Vincent craved moments like this from time to time to break up the everyday life. A gecko slithered his way past him and he watched until it was no longer visible. Whatever drove us into the City…? He let the thought slip away and decided not to mar the moment with anger or some other undesirable emotion. Despite the helmet, he could still taste the fresh air. Beautiful. “You coming?” Bruce asked. Vincent was still sitting on his Pike even though they had stopped and arrived at the mouth of the canyon. “Yeah.” The crunch of dirt under Bruce’s boots were the only sound, with Vincent quiet and in close tow. Blood was everywhere. It was splattered across torn tents, the ground, and coated one of the corpses they had found. So much there was little to go on to distinguish the sex of the person. Vincent eyed his surroundings. Bruce knew that Vincent was scared. He was too. Pretty much dead already. But keep moving. Suddenly the crunch of boots stopped. Vincent eyes widened and he snapped to attention. Bruce stopped because not only had they reached the dead end, but there was a cave. After a terse five minutes, Vincent came up to Bruce’s side and stared into the darkness. “We going in?” Bruce sighed heavily “Not without proper equipment.” Vincent made a confused face behind the helmet but Bruce could detect it through his voice; “We have flashlights.” Bruce told him to wait as he went back to the Pikes. 8:45 Outside of Canyon Caves What Bruce came back with blew his mind. Titans aren’t so bad after all. Bruce came back with no helmet and had revealed his face to the sun. He was bald, in his mid-thirties, brown eyes, and with a black tattoo that covered his entire face, except his forehead. The tattoo consisted of entangled vines, with a black rose on his left cheek, a skull on his right, and a vertical sword along the center of his chin. “Take your helmet off, we’ll need our peripherals and use Ghost. Vincent did so and took one of the two weapons Bruce was brandishing in each hand. “What is it?” “Silver Dollar, handy shotgun, better than your SMG for this environment.” Before Vincent clarified, he took note of his voice. For such a big man looking the way he did, his voice was not deep, nor surprisingly high. Just like his. Vincent cleared his throat and asked bluntly; “I was talking about your gun.” Bruce paused, smirked, and admired the weapon. “The Thunderlord.” With that, they entered the abyss. And the abyss, would become their graves. https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc1/734397_494769643951678_442970405_n.jpg https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/1233365_501602479935061_1275193523_n.jpg
