What about super double dragon for SNES?

It's good however it doesn't have the jumping /platforming that the first 2 NES games had. DD 1 & 2 for NES were unique and not direct arcade conversions. Super DD is more a straight arcade game and is not as fun to me and even not as good as streets of rage or even final fight. Also they stripped the story from it to meet the release date I belive. It was supposed to have cutscene and dialogue too. You're better off getting double dragon advance on the gba. That is very good.

lol...true about the story. After the last boss there was a lame monologue then credits. But I like it more than streets of rage because of the combat. You could string together so many (for the time) different combos. It made for a unique'ish fighting experience
-
That's true. The speed of streets is what I like about it though. Super DD feels like slow motion compares to it.

Edited by tmanfrede: 2/3/2015 4:50:16 PMI concede to that to. The toons felt heavy. I'd even say there was a small delay between button press and the move execution. I only played the first DD, super DD, and the one for game boy. Do you remember one of the first bosses in DD, he wore a mask and when you did a certain amount of damage he would disappear and his mask would fall?

Yeah he is boss 1 in DD2 I think his name is burnov....he's the hardest boss in the game probably other than the shadow master guy who can almost kill you in one hit if you're not careful. There's a great DD website that chronicles all DD games with screen shot on every platform it was released. http://doubledragon.kontek.net/ See if that link works for you, if not just Google double dragon dojo. It will bring you right to it. If you are a DD fan it's a great site to check out. I think it's updated pretty regularly too.

Thanks. The linked worked. Site is awesome. Wish they'd make another DD. I wonder how it would play.

They released one on Xbox live a number of years ago I think a remake of DD2 I just got a 360 in December so I haven't got a chance to try it supposedly it really sucks. On psn and xbox live they released a brand new DD called double dragon neon. That was for 360 and ps3. I have it on ps3 and I didn't like it as much as I hoped. It's really hard but it does have a little nostalgia. Double dragon advance for gba was really good.
