Starting on 12/15/14, my buddy and I began compiling data regarding what The Cryptarch decodes Blue/Purple engrams into. Below are our results:

28 Purple/Legendary Engrams turned into:
18 Purple/Legendary Items (64.3%)
9 (2) Ascendant Shards (32.1%)
1 Exotic Item (3.5%)
