It's a very temperamental type of pulse rifle (I don't own it but use all different types of PR's) and I can say in crucible if you are a decent marksman it is a beast but of you're a pray n spray AR scrub it will change take a while to change you play style.

Absolutely, if you're running CE hard mode then it literally is a life saver. Don't let anyone call you a scrub for using it too

Without the chalice most people are forced to try and use orbs to bring their health back up(if you've got the right helmet), but killing a single enemy with the Red Death will restore your health completely everytime.

i got it from Atheon and chose to upgrade Hardlight instead big mistake i got the Red Death upgrade about an hour ago and its so useful

It can be. Particularly in the new raid where you can't regen health without holding the chalice of light.
