Maybe the community can answer this, but it's aimed more at the employee's/dev's.
I want to know (with as much detail as possible) what language(s) were used to program Halo 3 and how many lines of code it took, with each language if possible. I'm sure C++ was used for the foundation of the game, Lisp for A.I. and possibly C# for other things...but I wanted specifics.
I searched all over for answers and couldn't find em. Thanks!

Im not asking for the game code itself, I just wanted to know what it took to make the game. Honestly, I could hack into the code myself a look just like those guys did that found out the whole IWHBYD skull thing that ticked Bungie off so bad. But I don't want to do that because, from a programmers standpoint, thats wrong. Ethically speaking. I, by no means, wish to see the game code.

Also the game uses an in-house engine, so you won't be told anything about that. The physics are by Havok, so again no information will be shead on that. The publications details stuff about lighting and MM. They're your best bet, [Edited on 07.02.2008 11:20 AM PDT]

Or, put in an application to work at Bungie, then you'll find out everything you want to know, and be sworn to secrecy never to divulge it...

The last thing they need is for someone to mod MM itself, which they probably could with that information. So, sorry if you don't get an answer.

Sounds proprietary to me.

Doubt you'd be told that, email Bungie direct and they may tell you. Also check the "Inside Bungie" section of the site, they have some presentaions on how they made the game, they may hold the answer to your question Hope this helps.
