2 RepliesEdited by Osiris: 1/26/2015 4:32:04 PMmaybe if I were norse, and speaking of the horn used to signify the start of Ragnarok. But im american, and we butcher the language, so the proper pronounciation for an american is GAL-AH-HORN. instead of using the customary Gj making a "Y" sound, Americans should ignore the J altogether, and just say it like a "G" . also, since americans are too busy (code word for lazy) to read the entire word, you should forget that an R is in the word at all. Just leave it out. The reasoning for these differances from traditional pronounciation have no logical reasoning. it is simply because we are american, and it is our duty to bastardize other languages. If not us, then who? Edit: 'MURICA

It's not that you don't pronounce the G, it's that the Gj sounds like Y. You say that in your OP, but your thread title is off.
