ok every1, I apologize. it's all my fault, ok. I will take 100% of the blame. 1st day fighting Crota on DLC drop, I picked up the sword to swing at him after my fireteam took down his shield. The very second I took my 1st swing at Crota I got hit by a big blue blast from the hive knight in the tower to the right. All I could think about at that moment was "what the hell just hit and annihilated me?" low and behold on my Guardian Down screen it said Hive Knight "Boomer". which is the name of the cannons they use. I was pretty upset and yelled out "GD Boomers!" Unfortunately 4 me it happened again on my 2nd attempt, so b4 I took a single swing on him, Boomers bested me twice. And I yelled once more "GD Boomers!" I knew right then and there my sole job would no longer be sword, but taking out those GD Boomers! So I sat back in the back room on left, pulled out the icebreaker and gave em hell. everytime they popped out, I yelled out BOOMERS, BOOMERS! and it stuck. it was quicker and easier than saying "Hive Knight Cannons!" or something else less appealing to the ear. Boomers is something that every1 could recognize and trigger the brain 2 think "oh crap, here comes the boom". Everybody started saying it after that across thousands of fireteams, and became a universal signal. So again, I apologize for not being technically correct on identifying the enemy there.
