Why most ppl can't beat HM Crota
I'm seeing a lot of posts about how OP Red Death and Suros are for the boss fight and I just shake my head.
The fact of the matter is DONT get hit, and know how to regenerate your health if you do, WITHOUT handcuffing yourself to a bad exotic.
Every class has a way to regenerate health, whether it be blessing of light for Titan, hungering blade / energy steal for warlock and hunter, and each class has a helmet that has "picking up orbs regenerates health". Just switch to this helmet, pick up 1 orb, and switch back.
But you shouldn't be getting hit in the first place, and you should be using your best exotic, not Suros or Red Death.
Beaten it 3x legit with little difficulty. It is absolutely possible to clear the whole fight with barely anyone taking any damage.

1 ReplyI agree, the only damage I take in the Crota fight is at the start and half of the time I avoid all damage even there. Plus raid helm orb replenish and bubble. Never needed the chalice in normal don't need it in hard

Agree. I own Red Death and Suros, they didn't even come out of my vault and I've nailed Crota 3 times as swordbearer because I follow the OP's advice. Well said.

Aha yeah the whole point is not to get hit I've been running it on my hunter without anyway to recover health and pretty much died the least out of all the groups I've been most groups either fail because sword bearer messes up or not enough dps to down crota or timing issues

My teams first go was at launch and we breezed thru up to crota, we had trouble at this point and I admit I think it took us three four hours(with breaks) to finally come together figure out a strategy that worked for us and we finally took him down. We cleared crota with ease after that two more times. It just takes a team that listens and communicates. If everyone is doing their job, and you have regen abilities, its not that difficult, as long as the glitches don't frustrate you and you just push thru you will get him. I'm down to help any team having trouble on xbone.. Gt ScrapParts

A team using red death can beat crota just as easily as team of ghorns can. It's more convenient to shoot and get health then to depend on others for orbs. Yes I have both and use ghorn 99.9% of the time. This 0.1% I'm using red death just for crota I'm not running out of the way, into boomers sights, just to punch a thrall for health. Just saying.

Agree with the post other than the ignorant statement that red death is bad. Gun is pretty bad ass in my opinion, obviously not better than my gally, but it's fun. I have every exotic as well. The red death is fun

My friend go Jelly from this weeks nightfall then got Thubderlird from the weekly 10 mins later. Whats sad is he kept wanting me to get Thunderlord cause I use Lmgs over launchers. Needless to say I was in an angry laughter.

When I'm using my Titan, depending on my role at the time, I'm using defender with blessing of light or striker with transfusion. Warlock I use void walker and energy drain/life steal. Hunter I use blade dancer and hungering blade.

I ran out of heavy ammo synthesis . I had 60 of them. An ran out either people needing to wipe or etc . Wasting my ammo

I see nothing wrong w starting the crystal roomw Suros or Red Death, then swapping out to different gear after left/right are clear.

2 RepliesI've been working on crota for 2 days. All of the groups ive played with have had one issue: our swordbearer kept getting himself killed by crota.

The only time I get hit during the boss fight is just clearing the room. After that it's smooth sailing.

1 ReplyI have found the most difficult part is all the glitches not the lack of chalice. It seems every time I try it something weird happens...sword disappears, sword bearer getting stuck in door, crota going from kneeling to instant sword bash, crota standing waaaay too fast.
