Efrideet's Spear is Overpowered
Rolled with the proper perks, I believe this rifle is a bit game breaking and should be nerfed. Certain perks shouldn't be allowed on sniper rifles (e.g. armor piercing rounds, final round). What do you guys think? I put together a montage of how ridiculous this weapon is.
***Update: I am more so asking for opinions on the perks (final round, armor piercing rounds) and wether you consider them overpowered or not on a sniper rifle. Efrideet's Spear is simply an excellent example of these perks due to the reforging option, small clip size, and massive impact.

Edited by slayer britt: 5/13/2015 11:11:46 AMOnly high impact snipers with final round are OP. I leveled up a final boss with AP rounds and final round, expecting a one shot kill to the body. No such luck. Its close, but not a kill. And AP rarely seems to be that effective. So, in general, no. They are not OP. Efrideets spear is a great sniper in both PvE and PvP. No need to fix what isn't broken. Edit: just saw how old this post was, never mind I guess. AP rounds got nerfed since then lol.

5 RepliesWow. Want to see a video of someone who actually hits two marksman kills before burning the final round? I'll work on actually uploading that footage for you, but that's where the Speer starts to look a little broken, when a sniper that can snipe uses it. That's the type of shit that rustles my jimmies and gets me excited for ToO, the promise and prospect of wiping an entire squad single handedly. You're good with AP rounds though, though your clips lack context, so it's hard to judge entirely.

I regret not grinding for one. My brother has one with field scout. Holds six after that and reserve is bumped to around 20 I think. Perfect for PVE!

Not allowing Armor Piercing Rounds on a sniper rifle? That's like not allowing explosive rounds on a hand cannon. Snipers were made to [b]pierce armor[/b].

1 ReplyIf you're asking about the perks then shouldn't that reflect in your title? The Spear is a solid sniper but slow fire rate keeps it in check. I get that people are getting 1 chance at a body shot kill with Final Round but with guns like Thorn, TLW, & Felwinter's stinking up PVP I can't agree the the Spear is OP because of 1 bullet.

7 RepliesI don't see what the big deal about final round is. Sure, it can kill with one bullet to the body shot, but what is the fun of sniping then? I'd rather not have it and go for headshots or 2 body shots. IMO the perk should be taken out of the game

8 RepliesQuit with the nerf this nerf that posts. This is what happened to the Black Ops series and for the rest of its lifespan, guns shot butterflies because everyone cried when they got killed. Instead of nerfing everything, give every weapon a huge buff. Make the game fun to play for pete's sake.

My LDR with final round is far more useful in PvP. It's higher rof, and still one hit kill to the body with final round. My spear with final round will primarily be used in PvE.
