Saterienne rapier
There's a fair amount of rubbish weapons being sold from the vendors. For those of you undecided (I know I was) this is the gun to go for. If you're not a crucible player getting the rank and marks is a chore however in my opinion there is no better PVE weapon available from the vendors. I have it fully upgraded on my gunslinger and it's immense.
Keep grinding, it's worth it.
Edit: Folks I'm happy that you've gotten drops of other rifles that have the same/better perks and stats but the thread is in reference to weapons you can buy from vendors only. Engrams and nightfall/weekly rewards have random perks assigned to them based on the rng tables they dropped from.

Agreed. I grinded (ground?) for the marks to buy this one (crucible marks take SO much longer to come by), and never looked back. If it weren't such a huge time investment, I would do it with my other two characters as well - but by the time I got them both, HoW would be out. Meanwhile, I consistently look at my 198 marks per character and think "oh I should go buy some mats before I cap out" as there are no vanguard ones worth spending on.

1 ReplyI have this and gheleons demise with firefly. Gheleons does more damage with higher impact but the rapier is incredible. The quick reload really makes it superior

Ive got one from a random drop, came with zen moment and third eye, additional upgrades were explosive rounds, single point sling and fitted stock, is that rubbish?

Edited by Harbinger: 1/23/2015 4:31:58 AMYep, any scout + firefly = scoutbringer. Saterrienne Rapier being the only one that can purchased from a vendor. The Badger CCL, Gheleons Demise, and Another NITC can also randomly have the perk.

4 RepliesI don't know whether or not to get it. HoW comes out in a month so I'm thinking to slowly max out my marks and get a tonne of mats for the HoW gear. The vendor stuff will get me to 33 or something I'm assuming and since you can't upgrade Legendaries I don't see that much point. Opinions?

This gun is now my go to main and I have now discovered that scout rifles pretty much are the cats pajamas no matter what the situation calls for in PVE. This particular gun is worth the crucible grind and I highly recommend it. Another NITC was my primary before this and the trade off in magazine size is negligible when you see how many extra adds you take out with firefly with head shots. Enjoy the fireworks!

I hear you i like this gun a lot, luckily i was able to get it after i got my timurs lash (i call her Smash Lash she has field scout, clown mag and crowd control she literally staggers everything) from the IB. This gun is almost like the only lvl32 thing the vendors sale

Such a great scout. I got the B-Line from a nightfall too that rolled with firefly but it's missing that critical reload perk that the Rapier has. I love them both but I run the Rapier far more often since I bought it. Even does well in the raid especially with armor piercing rounds.

Those who make petitions here to upgrade their Fatebringers have beer seen the Rapier. It's basically the successor to Fatebringer, with the same two main perks (Outlaw and Firefly). The things a beast, and I always disliked scout rifles until I bought it- never used one since the beta. Seriously a must-have weapon.
