Activision fits there as a publisher, nothing else. Of course they will get some help from ACtivision such as testing and possibly new technoologies, but Activision won't be an integral part of the development process.
But keeping expectations low is always a good thing. After all, you lose nothing and if the game actually super awesome, you will be much more excited about it because you were positively surprised. The waiting also goes by faster when you keep your expectations lower.
