My question is based on the differences in damage when competeing in normal Crucible matches and Iron Banner Crucible matches. I noticed this today after playing a good bit of Iron banner, that some of my legendaries do not do as much damage in normal crucible as they do in Iron Banner. Now the idea that first comes to mind is that I am talking about 331 guns, this is not the case. I was testing this idea using a hand cannon with no upgrades, its damage was 248. In Iron Banner after 4 matches or so it took only 3 - 4 hits to kill someone. Then I went over to normal crucible and noticed it took 5-6 shots to kill over the course of 4 matches. I redid this again using my new Hand Cannon, Timurs Lash. I did not fully upgrade it and was killing people in 3 hits in Iron Banner. In normal it took 4 - 5 hits. I know the two modes are different but I feel like this should not be backwards. I would think it would take more in Iron Banner to kill someone then in normal.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Opinions? Questions?

1 ReplyWhat level are you, and what level person were you shooting? Level differences still matter in Iron Banner, not just gun damage value

Did you take note of the levels of your victims? Iron banner has level advantages enabled. If those you were shooting had a lower level than you, it would be easier to kill. Crucible does not have level advantage enabled. Attack an defense also count in iron banner. Having a 331 attack gun, versus lighter defenses, is an advantage in iron banner. In crucible, attack and defense are normalized.
