This is a raid scenario
---
So, I've Raided VoG a lot. Not as much as some, but maybe more then the average Destiny player.
I've never seen the point of strength. I normally look for armour with intellect or discipline or a combination of both.
My go to VoG armour set has 90-ish% of each with 0% strength.
I mean, how often do you guys rely on the melee special anyway? Its only good for when you're stuck in middle of reload and things just got up close and personal.
Let's face it, that doesn't happen enough to justify putting points on it. Its normal charge rate is enough for it to recharge and have it ready for use again if things go a bit crazy again.
If you could buff strength in any way or even replace it, would you suggest?
I would like it if strength boosted your relic damage.
Say for example, you have allocated 30% to strength, you would do 30% more damage whilst holding/using a relic.
What is your suggestion and preferred guardian attributes?
Edit
Due to all the feedback and responses I find myself seriously considering a change in my allocation of points.
Thank you all!

-
You don't melee a lot? Next you'll be saying you don't use your super or jump ability much either. Actually....I see. You don't play Titan, and your Hunter probably only melees when you need to escape. I feel sorry for you. May as well be playing some CoD clone.

With a sunbro warlock it's more flame shields.
-
I max strength so i can solo lanterns with invisible blink strikes.
-
You should try defender titan with shotgun and transfusion. Some originality in Destiny's gameplay.
-
I use the striker punch SOOOO Much in CE specially during the first part due to the health regen perk. Helps so much and it's good for clearing a path of you have overload on due to then AOE effect
-
The warlock flame shield is great when enemies get close in a raid. Smack a mob and jump away. The shield absorbs the damage you take while getting some distance. I max my strength on my arc hunter for rapid invisibility. Makes running the first section of Crota solo much easier.
-
There's survivability abilities linked to melee. Eg: voidwalker heal, sunsinger flame shield, striker heal, defender force barrier, blade dancer invisiblity. I don't really stack strength though I can see the benefits.
-
On the titan defender a melee kill gives you a full over shield. Absolutely pivotal when doing the thrall maze.
-
Void walker, Energy Drain+Life Steal. Reduces my grenade cooldown and heals me. Useful on the Crota fight when I can just smack a thrall instead of worrying about the chalice.
-
Flame shield all day erry day
-
One word, Transfusion... I can't explain how many time Transfusion had saved my life... My intelligent and strength is even, the best part is that my auto rifle has grenadier which recharges my grenade a lot faster per kill allowing me to have a balance build.. During VoG hard, I throw out a grenade every 4 -5 supplicants killed when fighting Atheon..
-
Force barrier+no backup plans = a field of orbs.
-
Defender titan + Strenght = FISTO MacIMMORTAL.
-
Having a 30 second reload on the throwing knife is pretty damn handy! I keep a few options for all my characters for the mood I'm in, or what I'm doing.
-
I use strength on all my characters. Strength maxed on warlock with my Claws gives me two hits with scorch. AND gives me that extra bonus shield twice. Same for my defender Titan. Bonus shields and I can punch enemy's to give out orbs of light to teammates. I play a lot more PVE than pvp

Edited by NightMist: 1/19/2015 12:28:51 PMI would say hunters have the short end for raids. Defender titans can reload & ready faster after a punch (Good for shotguns) or create orbs (Good in raids/strikes). Striker Titans can regenerate health with their punch (Good in raids). Voidwalker Warlocks can lower the cooldown of Nova Bomb with their melee (Great with obsidian mind) Sunslinger Warlocks can create orbs (Good in Raids/Strikes) BladeDancer Hunters can go invisible after melee (Good for the beginning of the Crota Raid)

Strengh is freaking useful in crucible. Not everything is about pve.
-
Good for titan for force barrier
-
Flameshield.
-
I use melee often. As a warlock , it charges up my special faster. Meaning more scorch. Great for wizards.
-
Should extend the perk of the melee specialty. I don't know what the perks are for other classes but for defender titan it would extend the faster reload/shield. Or it would buff the damage and cool down of the melee instead of just the cool down. I think its a waste of points as it is honestly.
-
friendly reminder: it's intellect, not intelligence :)
-
If you had a titan, you'd understand
-
I think the stats should have increased the effectiveness of those abilities instead of reduced cooldowns. It would make each stat more viable instead of Strength being the red headed step child of the 3. That being said, i still max my str on my Titan because i am a MFing Titan. #PunchAllTheThings That being said, with Fast Twitch on Bladedancer and max str your Blink Strike will cooldown in like 2 seconds. Paired with Hungering Blade this can be a pretty potent combo for PvP if melee is your thing. For Sunsingers, getting a shield just from a hit instead of a kill also makes Str pretty useful.

Maybe for hunters with the escape artist perk..
