Message to the squeakers: It is not your voice

We, and in particular myself, don't like playing with young ones; aka squeakers, because all they typically do is brag about how good they are, or what they can do, or bark orders repeatedly
"SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA SHOOT CROTA, BOOMERS! BOOMERS! BOOMERS! BOOMERS! BOOMERS! BOOMERS! BOOMERS! BOOMERS! GET TO MIDDLE< I SAID GET TO MIDDLE !!! WHY ARENT YOU GETTING TO MIDDLE YET!!! DUDE !!! YOU !! HOW COME YOU ARE RUNNING AROUND UP TOP!!! GET TO MIDDLE ! " .. . . . non stop the whole damn encounter
Listen kids, we know we have to shoot crota. Just say it once. Stop trying to blame every little thing on every little damn death. Randomness happens, sometimes we poke out too far and get hit by a hobgoblin. Your age group tends to not let anything go as well. So what if someone asked if you shot a rocket correctly. Just say that you did and 'lets get this next time", Why are you still yapping about some insignificant comment 30 minutes later ? Even you make mistakes. Every death is magically lag issues or glitches when a squeaker actually dies. Look, if someone else dies, sometimes it is your damn fault for not covering them. I don't need to hear a run down comparison of all your accomplishments and prior drops. Lets just kill the stuff in front of us and have fun. I also do not want to hear about how 'easy' this is with your other friends. They aren't here helping you get raid gear at the moment. Stop acting like a superman hero who can solo entire 6 person fights. When we say wipe just jump off so we can restart. I see that you have the relic, just let it go man, you aren't finishing the fight. Don't drag it out another 5 minutes. We get it, you can aim well and know the fights. Sometimes the rest of the team doesn't and often times we are playing after work getting drunk. You will get there one day :) I have never seen or witness anyone getting upset at you when you have to afk to talk to your parents, so don't get upset when someone else wants a smoke break after the third downed boss. ( I am not the smoker ). I will kick you the second you throw a tantrum about anything. It is not fun, and I like to play to have fun. Learn to shut up once in a while. I don't need constant chat fest about what your favorite weapon is and every little fact you know. We know just as much. I'd rather hear the cues of what's going on. Why is it the only time I see most of you is when you 'need' something done? We all need stuff done. When you join up on our party chat and we are doing some runs, we may not always do the one run you need on your third character. Some of us work and would like to do our first raid of the week. What?! You need a nightfall, thats good, but we are running a raid. You can join us or wait until some of us can help out with nightfalls. Or you're welcome to join us in the raid. Why does it always have to be 'your character's needs' or nothing? For the love of all that is holy, please don't yell at people in your household while your mic is on. None of the other 5 people want to hear "WHAAAAAAT ?!?!??!?" in that annoying irritated tone blasted into our ears. Just say 'guys can you hold on a sec?' and then mute your mic. If I ignored your first 200 invites in the same hour, guess what ? I don't want to raid at the moment. Let it go. Look, I understand that there are several strategies. But when 3-4 of my friends have run these hundreds of times a particular way and are trying to help you out, be nice and give it a go a few times. I don't need to hear a 50 minute break down of all possible ways to do every encounter. If we wipe X+ times in a row, then yes, a debate is in order. Otherwise you can run your own raid and lead it. In conclusion, these are the things people refer to by squeakers, not the pitch of your voice.

  • ... when everything wrong with your raiding persona that you didn't even realize you were doing gets highlighted and you feel like a complete moron. ack I humbly and deeply apologize for the squeakicides I have committed and vow to not repeat them in the future

  • If you are in a raid and can't figure out which one of you is the squeaker... guess what? it's probably you.

  • Damn, stop arguing in the comments if you're a squeaker or not! If you are then just accept it and deal with it when someone kicks you from their fireteam.

  • I have heard a few squeaker stories. One of which is that two of my buddies were doing King's Fall and this one squeaker joined in. He hardly talked, but he didn't do crap for the team. During the Warpriest, he jumped between the platforms even when he had the aura. So this goes out to all squeakers: do everyone a favor and leave us alone.

Everything you said was dead on. I have a feeling you may have taken some college courses on squeaker culture. Seriously though, this could have been summed up with "stfu, it's past your bed time." Just some constructive criticism. Edit: I'm really hoping I didn't just necro a year old thread...

    • I've played with a few who aren't bad, one is my buddies nephew and he literally never says a word, he sounds like that big black dude from underworld though I forget his name.

    • I'm pretty tolerant of kids myself but it pisses me off when their friends join the party without being invited.

      • I just can't handle when they want to be in charge and tell others what to do. I served my time as a kid and will not be told what to do by one. I already know what I'm supposed to do in any activity.

      • People like you need to stop stereotyping! It's not every single squeaker that does this. I'm pretty quiet and listen to others when I'm in a game, and I'm 13. It pisses me off how it takes about 45 minutes for me to find a raid group because people always kick me right when I join. You guys need to give us a chance because only like 1/5 of us does that. But you'll never know that if all you do is kick right when you join. So stfu.

        • Ok, so... I'm relatively young myself, and don't consider myself to be a sage, MLG master, or anything like that. I'm just an inch above your everyday dirty casual. Furthermore, I'm pretty laid back. I don't mind if we wipe... Bragging about your skills doesn't bother me because you GT is xXLoneXxXWolfXx and not TRIPLEwreck so I know your lying (it's ok), your voice pitch doesn't bother me; however, if you are playing with a sibling... It's gonna get real. To give you an idea of how often this happens to me, if I had a an egg for every time I got LFG'd by a Bro-Combo I could make an intergalactic omelet. These siblings have the always present tendency to screw up, shout, say really weak curses like 'dang-flabbit,' and generally take out their frustration about their inadequate younger or older sibling out in the Party. As soon as that happens, I'm out. I don't care if Lil' Jeff has never completed easy-mode VoG before, STOP BELITTLING HIM, Jeff is in big boy undies now and can hold the relic just FINE! In conclusion, the paradoxical approach many elder children take in response to their younger siblings performance in the computer simulated universe they are interacting with is often described as ludicrous, retarded, agitating, most unfortunate, rude, poor, and utterly... Stupid.

        • I am not young, or old, but I know everyone's voice cracks when they get that one exotic they dreamed about, for me it was Monte Carlo, I dreamed about getting it, and when I got it, my team was laughing since I sounded like I was 8, it happens to everyone, so don't kick someone for being excited, or it might be the heat of the moment, like the last sword of crota, last times Vengeance, everyone is going to start yelling, getting a little louder or something, and we all know, the voice that comes through the mic is not your real voice... So next time you hear someone yelling or telling someone something in a high tone, don't kick them. Honestly, they probably have had that happen enough to them. Don't make it any worse, they know, they understand, just go with it

        • No, it's totally your voice. You know how high pitch sounds can make glass break and dogs howl in the middle of the night? That's totally the average squeaker voice. And yeah, you squeakers brag too much.
