Just got Ghorn...Not Impressed
I feel like this gun is way over hyped. I just got it yesterday and used its Wolf Pack rounds, it's a GREAT gun no doubt and I could see it having GREAT situational use(Atheon, Crota, etc) but it's not what I'd hoped it would be. I think I'd much rather use hunger of Crota and save my exotic slot for the mythoclast or icebreaker. My opinion may entirely change when hard raid comes out but for now I think I'll stick with Hunger of Crota, black hammer and the mythoclast as my setup. Anyone else feel the same?
Edit: Most of you think I'm hating on the gun, I think it's great for bosses just think your exotic slot would be much better used on a primary or special weapon when not taking on Crota or atheon.

Ghorn is for boss fights but in that niche it is unbeatable especially if you have a group of them.

The only time I change my weapon setup is for different nightfall burns. My favorite/main ATM is VoC, black hammer, gjallarhorn.

Yeah its situational but its best then.

I'm of the same opinion. It gets used when I'm soloing hard things or something has to die immediately. Otherwise it's an exotic primary.

My go to setup is fatebringer, ice breaker, hunger of crota. Runnen with that majority of the time.

It's pretty much made for taking down bosses quicker than any other weapon as it has the most DPS so yeah, of course it's situational.

It kills bosses fastest, all other trash can easily be handled by any of the top legendary weapons around without issue. Hunger doesn't out do Gjallarhorn, but IB can be outdone or at least matched by other secondaries. I've never enjoyed a primary slot exotic outside of the Mida. But I don't have any of the pistols.

all depends on situation dude Id use it over ice breaker and use LDR 5001 in that slot instead + it means i can rock Thorn :D Hunger of crota is pretty good though so it would make sense to rock IB with it. For bosses though, Godzillahorn wrecks all

I felt the same until I started upgrading it, it's quite nice once it's upgraded from what I've seen.

fatebringer, usually murmur, so yeah free slot for ghorn, which wrecks shop, so yeah hunger of crota is a poor mans ghorn.

1 ReplyAll depends on ur build. I use ruin wings on my titan so i get more ammo and more ammo drops. I almost get enough ammo drops to use my rockets all the time. Plus it just melts anything in front of it. Kills the shriekers in crota raid with one rocket when maxed out. Probably the best exotic in the game, especially once it's combined with ruin wings.

This gun is not over hyped. Nothing kills bosses faster.

I only use it for ogres, shriekers and some wizards like ir yut and omnigul

I never equip it until I get to a boss. Even then it's seven shots don't do much. Away it goes for five minutes while I use icebreaker. Most stuff is dead before 5 minutes. I use hunger of crota it's better for every other situation. Purple too.
