They've avoided that magazine cover^ They posted this image instead http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/80251000/jpg/_80251429_80251428.jpg. and have numerous photos of stands where the latest issue is sold out, yet no photos of the issue itself. The BBC has been pushing out articles in which the importance of freedom of speech and expression is shouted from the rooftops, but they don't actually show us the controversial drawings. For those who would like to see for themselves, this article contains many embedded images, and the shots that show the offensive magazine carefully obscure the prophet http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-30808284 Is it a rational avoidance by a company that does reporting (and has allies) in many Islamic communities? Or is this a slap in the face to the entire point of not backing down to extremism? Please be civil in the comments.

 • They have official guidelines which at the moment prevent them from portraying images of the prophet. The guidelines were there before Paris. There are ongoing high level meetings happening at the moment to decide whether to change the policy in light of recent happenings.
