Lack of outstanding Void weapons?
Just a thought that crossed my mind is the lack of quality Void weapons.
We have great solar weapons like Vision of Confluece, Icebreaker, Gjallarhorn, Black Hammer, Hunger of Crota, Vex Mythoclast, etc.
We have great arc weapons that hit like a truck, Fatebringer, Light of the Abyss, Thunderlord, Patiente and Time, Plan C and so forth.
On the Void side we have Atheon's Epilogue, which is garbage, Truth, that doesn't excell in the damage department, Corrective Meassure, which is great, a shame it is just 300. I have The Supremacy Sniper from the Queen's Wrath event and that thing is great, but there are also arc and solar counterparts to this weapon. Crota's End Void Handcannon looks way inferior to fatebringer too.
So in the end, when I go to a Void Nightfall, I end up using basically whatever loadout I have at hand and there is not much else to aim for.
Any sleeper Void weapon I'm missing?

Praedyths Revenge is a great Void Sniper rifle from VoG. Also, I have to disagree with you about calling Atheon's Epilogue garbage. It is a great auto rifle. Hell, I run this thru Hard Mode VoG. It destroys the void shielded Minotaurs and Praetorians.

A friend of mine picked up the "harm's way" from the vanguard that is void damage. It is a beast. And when the hard raid comes out, I believe the hand cannon "the word of crota" is void damage. It may not be fatebringer, but it will be 331 and probably a good replacement for atheon's epilogue. I also have a Dead orbit fusion rifle, final rest, that is void, and I'm a big fan of it. Overall, I would agree with you though. In comparison there are not near as many void guns as there are arc/solar. I'm surprised that there is no void exotic special weapon (yet). Id like to see a void exotic sniper to add to patience and time and icebreaker.

Efrideet's Spear. Possible drop from Iron Banner right now. Legendary Sniper that hits harder than Icebreaker. Can reroll it at lord Saladin for 2 Motes of light to change the element and perks. I have a solar and a void just make sure you get field scout on it as well.

The 77 wizard void fusion is a badass, although, not as badass and the PlugOne version - I have both! I also got another very good one, called '...something hallway' but I dismantled as the PlugOne is better. Also, the old Rocket Launcher 'Unfriendly Giant' is great as well, even better than Truth imo. The vault sniper, P.Revenge is pretty sweet as well!

I have both Truth and GHorn 2.0 and as others have said Truth is just a cut below Ghorn, which makes it very good. I also have a 331 Broken Truth - a middling Void Sniper from the deadbeats at Dead Orbit, and pray every night to RNGesus to drop a Void Purifier or Plug on me.

1 ReplyAtheon's Epilogue is great! gets the Thorn bounty done super fast, and is quite stable for an AR. Truth is still a good Rocket Launcher, 3 rockets allow good DPS on large Bosses. one gun you did forget to mention is Praedyth's Revenge. maybe it's more of a PvP sniper, but it certainly has it's uses when Void Burn is on.

7 RepliesI would indeed love a Void Exotic Sniper. Ice Breaker has Solar combustion Patience & Time has Invisibility Void sniper could have health drain bullets that deal DOT (returning a portion of the health taken to the user)??? Maybe? Any better ideas for an Exotic Void Sniper?

Truth is a killer void launcher. Harm's Way from Vanguard is a beast and I'm still using Praedyth's Revenge. There are good void weapons.

What? The truth is good for clearing out mobs, it has one hell of a blast radius. So in any void nightfall its the best option as far as heavy goes in my opinion.

Agreed. There's no lack of 'good' void weapons, but surely not outstanding to the likes of Gjallarhorn, Fatebringer, Ice Breaker, Thunderlord, etc

Yeah, Void weapons are getting shafted hard. Solar has the best weapons in the game at the moment and Arc is in the middle ground. There is a whopping total of 1 void element exotic.
