It's been 4 days since I've played Destiny. I feel like I'm dying. I had 2 jobs, but wanted more time for Destiny turns out my dad hates destiny and took my TV until I get a second job someone help.
Edit 1: Good job guys you've proved these forums are no place for comedy.
Edit 2: It is my T.V simpletons.

How old are you? Just curious Cuz if your 18+ I would set up a plan where you and a roommate move in together in an apartment and split utility+rent costs to 50% each person. Just a suggestion.

Maybe trade in two jobs for a career (or school/university to get that career). Sucks he took the TV away, but it's his roof. And honestly quitting anything to play a video game... To each their own, but that's bad precedent. Life > video games.

1 ReplyQuit a job to play Destiny more...lucky he never threw you out on the street.

5 RepliesIts because your dad cares about you. He wants you to be responsible and earn some extra money so he can kick you out lol.

Stop living off your parents, move out and man up

Lol Go buy another one. Decent flat screens can be bought for under $1000.

23 Replies1) Are you an adult? If so, go to step 3. 2) Who payed for the tv? Unless you did, or the tv itself is listed as a gift to you, your dad is well within his rights to take away the tv. If one of the above statements are true, then your dad is not allowed to take the tv, only your privileges to use it, including removing it for the time being. 3) If you payed for the tv, or the gift of the tv was declared to the IRS (I'm assuming you're in the USA), then it is illegal to do so, unless you signed a contract allowing them to do so. If you did not pay, nor was it declared to the government, your dad has full rights to it, and can take it for however long he wants.

Wat is a tv?

Perhaps it's partially how he uses his free time, as well? If all your free time is spent playing Destiny, and then you quit a job so you have more time to play Destiny, maybe he just got fed up. Pick up an additional hobby besides video games to fill your newly acquired additional free time and maybe he will be alright with it. I'm not saying this is the case with OP. I'm just firing in the dark. But if accurate and if I was a dad, I wouldn't want my child's only hobby being video games.

You raised your expectations too high in the first place by having two jobs. Quit the second one now (say you were laid off) and he might be relatively happy when you go back out and get a new one
-
Move out
-
You need to sort out your priorities
-
Well if you want to be treated as an adult ,act like one
-
Nothing is yours under your parents roof.

Work one job( that will give u enough to own a cardboard box and have electricity, and for food just eat ramen:)

3 RepliesLook him right in the eyes and explain to him in a very calm manner that one day he will be a feeble, old man and you will be young and strong and when that day comes, you will beat him within an inch of his life and if he calls the police you will tell the police that he forgot to take his medicine and is just a confused, old man who suffered a fall. So if he'd like to avoid all that in the future, it'd be in his best interest to give you your tv back right now. You'll either get your tv back or be committed. It's like 50/50.
